    Exactly.

TDR- the best way to see the TVC is to look at last year's rookie draft. The point value is listed next to each pick. When the championship is over, and I have time, ill do it again for this year.

I think it would be best if we could get a replacement owner in here as soon as possible...if for no other reason just so they can actually take control of Trizz's team before Flea Flicker blocks that until next year. That was a pain in the ass last season for Hitman and Riggo if you guys remember.

Conn...is there any chance you still have that little recruitment write up you wrote up and posted around the board last offseason?
That I do. Want me to tweak it to fit our purposes this time around?

B&G, be a good man and lose again this week. I'd like that extra first rounder at #5 rather than #6. Thanks.

And I'm not in support of everyone being able to trade but the new guy. It's either all of us, or none of us are able to trade. So basically CCFF is proposing waiting until longer than after the championship game to open trading back up....and that would depend upon how quickly we get our new owner in here?

I think if this is something you want to do for the future, let's discuss it. But holding the rest of us hostage from trading until the new owner is in place and familiar with everything is a bit much. And I'm just simply against there ever being a period where a portion of the league can trade and a portion can't. That's not fair...if the new owner wants to jump in and get his feet wet, you guys are basically gonna tell him...no, it's in your best interest to learn more about the league and your team first? That would suck if I was the new guy.

And i get what CCFF is trying to do...keep the new guy from getting trade raped. Well it's OUR job to pick the best, MOST qualified owner to fill the spot in our league. If we can't do that with the selection on ES, we either A) have a problem and we need to go outside of the regular ES pool to recruit, or B) we're doing a ****ty job of selecting a new owner.

I see your point Drop.. and I dont really care either way, but I do remember a few trades that have been lopsided as heck involving new owners right away... and that doesnt mean we picked a bad owner IMO..

although i guess you are right, if we pick the new owner then we should be fine with them trading right away... also it is their team, if they want to destroy it and start over that is their choice....

so I dont really care, and look forward to fleecing the new guy

I have no problem with the new guy wanting to trade right away. Its their team and they can do what they want.

exactly. handcuffing them and telling them they can't trade simply isn't fair. i wouldn't want to join a league where i have a two week probationary period where i'm forced to get a feel for the league before i'm allowed to make moves. I can miss out on trade action that way....that can actually hurt my team far more than it could help it. What if i felt I had a firm grasp on the rules after 4 or 5 hours of going over everything? You'd be telling me I can trade even though I feel i'm perfectly able to start doing so? That's some serious fantasy football gestapo **** CCFF. lol

I understand what you're trying to do...but again it comes down to us selecting the most competent and prepared owners to fit our league.

Maybe this is a system that needs revamping. I think it would be better if myself, the co-commish, and one or two other league members took the task of selecting a replacement owner. That way we could begin doing things behind the scenes, getting someone familiarized and prepared to take over their team, and effectively do away with the time constraints and limitations that the voting system we have in place right now offers. It's a hassle getting 12 owner votes for replacement owners...and do we really need to vote on replacement owners? I think that's something the commishes and one or two other owners are perfectly capable of handling.

I think a 3 or 4 man committee for replacement would do a more than sufficient job. And like i said, this would allow us to more easily transition someone into their team, before they actually take over and that way you eliminate the need for a probationary period like CCFF is talking about.

Well since it's only one team, why don't we post the roster when Conn posts his thread in the Tailgate/Stadium. That way whoever taking over already has an idea of what the team looks like?

That's a fine idea, but i don't think it accomplishes the task of getting someone familiarized with the "league". Their roster, yes...but the league, no. It takes some time to fully understand all of our particulars here.

CCFF is right in his thinking about getting an owner in tune with his team and his new league, i just don't like the part about keeping an owner from being able to trade. It's going to take more than just posting a roster to get the feel for all things that are the ES Dynasty League. But posting the roster with the replacement owner ad is a good start. This is why i think this should be a small committee decision that can begin behind the scenes, and before everyone knows it, bam...we have a brand new, qualified owner who's already had time to familiarize himself with our league infrastructure. This is not uncommon...i have this going on in a couple leagues right now.

Conn, let me know when you can post that buddy. We might as well get this process rolling asap.

True, but at least they know what they have going in. But I just think it's hard to tell someone they can't make a trade while the rest of the league can. So if you're going to restrict the new owner, then we all shouldn't be allowed to make trades.

Yeah i agree with that completely, and i don't think pushing back the opening of trading is the answer. We all want to be able to get back to trading as soon as the championship game is over. And how do you put a time table on how long it's going to take a new owner to grasp our league? You can't do that....it's just not feasible.

No need to block trades. Just like last year with Hitman and myself, we're gonna be looking for people that know what they're getting into, right? If they wanna come in guns blazing in full blow it up and start over mode, so be it.

Drop is 100% right about the site and switching owners - get the new owner in before FF shuts down that ability. That was a complete pain.

Yeah, I say we all just get good natured about it and tell the guy if he's getting fleeced.

and i just checked, but I can't even remove Trizz from the league for 76 days. That's when next season starts. So the new owner is going to face the same crap that Hitman and Riggo dealt with last year. He won't be able to access his team until the new season rolls over.

So he can't make trades...can we welcome him with an eyeball ****ing and a massive dump on his face instead?

Did I mention I'm part of the welcoming committee in my neighborhood?
