Value wise i am fine with the deal... no doubt... just not sure it helps my lineup in this league
That's tough GO. The Skins fan in me is telling me to do it, but the rational fantasy player is saying it may not help your team.
I don't think you can make that trade in a 32 teamer, unfortunately. It's good value in a vacuum for most people, unless you love Miller like some do (he's one of the most hyped players this offseason) but you need the depth and 1sts in a 32 team league. Studs don't matter so much, as being able to field a competitive team every single week and through byes and injuries becomes the most important goal with the talent spread so thin.
yeah that was why I questioned the deal.... in a 12 team league I think the value is there... the picks/miller etc are all crapshoot... but at this point it would hurt me at RB, as I dont really have another player... although I have the 12th pick and there will certainly be some IDP selected in first round... still too risky I think with my lineup...
thanks guys
now the guy said he might take less for him... if I can talk him down lower I might not be able to resist...
in a 32 team league you need decent players at all positions... truth is I am not a contender at this point... but giving up Miller might set me back even with RG3... since I would only have one startable RB...

its also a salary cap league with high scoring IDP players... so its pretty insane... takes a lot of work and figuring haha... fun though

now I am a little more intrigued... I think I could get Jstew in the deal.... which would help me field a decent roster.. but it would cost me 1.12... im back and forth on this...
2013 1.12
miller
dalton
2014 1st (likely mid 20s pick)
2014 1st (very likely to be around 30) good team here...
for RG3/Cousins and stew....
The two 1sts next year equate to roughly 2nds maybe 3rds in a 12 team league.... thats what has me thinking.... confused yet???
FA in a league like this is almost literally barren. The difference between RG3 and Dalton is much smaller than the difference between the points that would be put up if those picks (multiple 1sts and 2nds) even turn out to be average players, and what you can find in FA. The mindset has to be totally different. His offensive lineup is actually decent for a league like this from what I understand, and the quality depth that can come from those picks and keeping Miller could put him in a great spot in future years.
If he trades all this for a QB upgrade, one or two injuries and he's starting Kalil Bell, Damaris Johnson, or Travaris Cadet every week.

very true... for example last year I started:
Dalton
Cedrick Peerman
JaQuizz Rodgers
Aldrick Robinson
Juron Criner
yeah... it can be that bad.. i have scraped and clawed to get startable players at each position toward the end of last year/start of this year... and I got lucky and drafted Miller in the late first round...
I've got nothing against miller, but I think everyone in this deal not named Robert is replaceable. You might whiff on those picks and miller is still a gamble. Find yourself a Fred Taylor, Peyton hillis, type RB who is still productive although overlooked. In another year or two you'll have some young and sexy rbs, who again, may never pan out. The shelf life of an rb these days is short lived and volatile. This is a passing league. Go for griffin.
its a big risk for sure...
my lineup though... would look like
RG3
Matthews
Jstew
Djax
Wright (although looking to upgrade this)
Finley/Miller
which is no doubt stronger lineup for the present term... just a big gamble with RG3, Matthews, Jstew... lots of risk there...

he came back saying he would take out one of the 2014 1st round picks and throw in cedrick benson..
So
Dalton
Miller
1.12
2014 1st (likely in the 20s)
for
RG3
Cousins
Benson
Stew
im tempted.... very tempted

Getting JStew is a risk, but that along with keeping one of the 2014 1sts swings it for me. I'd do it. JStew might have a better year this coming year, if he stays healthy, than Miller ever does. I'm not a believer, his value is just getting hyped up right now.
yeah i already took it... its a gamble for sure... but if jstew can finally step up my lineup would be pretty solid in a 32 team...
also if I can win enough games that pick becomes ALOT less valuable next year... with my lineup I would think it would be at best in the 20s... so essentially 2nd round talent in a 12 team league...
plus I figured, if I cant gamble on RG3 then who can I gamble on??? and got Cousins in the deal too... who could become a trade piece in a few years...
---------- Post added February-23rd-2013 at 02:59 PM ----------
I did have to throw in a 2nd rounder... but its 2.07 so essentially the 29th pick...
Nice work. I think you talked that one down to a reasonable value really well.
If I were you I'd immediately flip Stewart if you can for a more reliable starter at RB. He has more trade value than he should, and always has, making him a nice liquid asset. But it's looking more and more like DWill will be back again.
i know its early.. but anyone interested in moving up, or into the first round hit me up... looking to trade back from the 5th pick.. prefer to stay in the first round.. but open on that...
