Default Extremeskins: The Official NFL Mock Draft Game 2008. Let the Games Begin!!!

    Here's how it works...

The object of this game is who has best predicted their team needs through the draft based on the # of picks he/she has in the 2008 NFL Draft. There will be a seperate Mock Draft Forum soon later where the mods will move this.

Since Free Agency won't begin until March, we're are going to start the game 1 week after it has started. Refer to NFL.com for your team's roster/depth chart (don't forget your IR players). Drafting players, and making trades is the only way to change your roster. The Draft Begins Monday(3/9) at 12pm.

We will have compensatory picks during this game, as they have not yet been announced.

    **************************************************
    Time Frames
Round 1: The game will begin @ 9am EST on Monday 3/9. Miami will go on the clock, and will need their pick ready by then. If the selection is made prior to the deadline, round to the nearest quarter hour (15 minute increment). . Since we are allowing for an entire half day for round 1, there will be no 'rest' window.

    Round 1: Draft Windows for 1st day will be 11am, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12am

    Round 2& 3: Draft Windows for 2nd and 3rd round will be 10am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, and 12am

    Round 4-7: Draft Windows will be 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and 12am

If your time limit expires, then your pick becomes "passed", and you may make your selection at anytime. However, the next team's time frame begins when your pick expires. When you come back to make your pick, the current time frame stays in play.

After you have made your selection, feel free to announce who is on the clock next, and give them their deadline. I won't always be here to do so. If you have a pick coming up, and the deadline wasn't announced, it is still the time frame from when the last pick was made, do the math yourself if you have to.

    **************************************************
    Trades
When presented with a trade offer, make sure to get confirmation before announcing it. ie. don't just post a trade happening when all you have is a proposal, as most owners will have several proposals floating around, and will take the best offer. Make sure you and the other owner know the trade is going to be announced before posting it.

Also, be careful what players you trade. Try to keep salary cap ramifications in mind when making trades.

    ***********************************************
    Game Threads
Use the Roster Thread to keep track of your players and picks.

Use the Trade Thread to post your Trade Blocks, Completed Trades, and other trade related stuff. Remember, when making a trade involving a draft pick, you must include the round number and pick number (ie: JAX trades Rd3 Pk15 (79 overall) to CLE for Rd4 Pk4 (100 overall) + "Player's Name"...or something to that degree), make sure we know what pick(s) are being traded.

    **************************************************
    Grading
A calculations thread will be opened at the conclusion of the game to determine which individual did the best job of playing GM for their respective team.

Pt Values for Correctness Player/ Full Trade Correct

    25- 1st round
    21- 2nd round
    17- 3rd round
    13- 4th round
    9- 5th round
    6-6th round
    5- 7th round

Pt Value if not correct with selection, but position right

    17- 1st round
    13- 2nd round
    9- 3rd round
    6- 4th round
    5- 5th round
    4-6th round
    3- 7th round

Pts Values for trades of draft picks

Value of pts assigned for trade will be determine by top pick involved in trade.
(Example: Fins trade #1 pick to Cowboys for their first round pick this year and a 2nd round in the mock) In reality, Fins trade #1 to Cowboys for both first rounds. HIghest draft picks must be right for pts to be counted.
Both teams get 5 pts right. Full trade on both sides= pts of round value assigned

Pts Value for trades of players
Value of pts assigned for pts for trades to correct team along with player(s) to be traded correctly.
(Example: Redskins trade for Lance Briggs for a 1st round pick in the mock) In reality, Redskins trade 2nd round for Briggs. Player must be right, but not trade. Both teams get pts right for 7 pts

Please take trades into consideration as pt values.

    **************************************************
    Winners

Pt Value per pick will the way that we decide who will win the competition.

We'd like to get a good draft this year. Hopefully all the owners will be able to make picks on time. We will be on a strict time line so try getting picks in on time.

I would say this is too early but I've seen these mock drafts last a few weeks here.

Edited: Oh yeah, I'll take the Giants and the 31st pick. How many rounds are we doing?

This is the first time I've signed up for this with the Giants still playing and I like it.

When the time comes, I'll play.

I'll take Miami this year, and am currently entertaining offers

Too much drama with the Skins last year, can't lose with the worst team, it only gets better lol

BTW: Sorry about the disasterbacle last year, my grandfather passed away during last year's mock draft and it completely fell apart, so as long as another tragedy doesn't happen I should be fully in this one skinfan

Draft doesnt start til March 9th. Just giving people time to get their teams and do their homework.

If you think about it its not really early, you get to learn more about your teams in the combine and who they are targeting and who they are targeting in Free Agency. This will start in March any ways but like the real, we give GMs plenty of time to decide on what they will do

I think last year's guys get first dibs (why I got Miami) so if someone drops out then it's yours i'd imagine. I was in charge last year but this year it's skinfan2k so shoot him a pm.

Yes, me and skinfan2k are aware of this. We are gonna let all returning players get teams, and you are first on the list for any team not filled.
