Default Malcolm Kelly interview on ESPN News

    Just finished...

    Here's a recap: Q/A format

Big relief for you when you were selected?

Yeah, big relief. I've been thinking for the last few day they were going to pick me anyway.

What are your thoughts about this Redskins offense, what do you know about this team?

I know they are bring a new offense. Coach Zorn is going to spread the ball. The offense Jerry Rice played in, as far as style of offense. It'll be good, lot of receivers are going to get a lot of balls. Running backs will get a lot of balls. Offense is going to be hard to defend, so I'm looking forward to it.

Take us through your day... all the WRs dropped to the second round. Frustrated? Annoyed? Nervous?

Yeah, a little of all that. But in the end you can't be frustrated at all, you have to look at it and realize that so many people want to get to this opportunity to play on Sundays. Good to know someone likes you enough to select you in the draft. It's all good and I celebrated with my family. I'm very thankful that the Redskins selected me.

Did you workout for the Skins prior to the draft?

Yeah, actually this past Thursday. Mr. Snyder, coach Zorn and everyone came down. They brought Jason Campbell too, to throw some balls to me. So I've already had an experience with the QB, so it's going to be good.

Redskins selected Devin Thomas with their first pick, are you surprised they decided to pair you two guy together?

I guess it was a bit surprising that they picked both of us up. But Devin's a great receiver, we're going to be two good receivers in that offense. We're going to be able to help each other out, talk about things, going through the whole rookie thing together. It's going to be good in the end. I think it was smart to get two WRs. The more guys you get, the more plays can be made. That's how I'm looking at it.

    Message to Redskins fans?

You're going to get a guy who's going to come there and get it done. Excited to be there, nation's capital, and we're going to have a lot of fun next year.

I gotta say he seems like a very mature guy... at least he's saying all the right things. I like his last comment, sounds like he's got something to prove...

    Good thread, thanks for posting
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

Welcome to Washington, Mr. Bust...there's an open seat next to Michael Westbrook, Rod Gardner, and Desmond Howard for you.

What a disgraceful wasted pick. Denver fan probably feels better about drafting Clarett after hearing this one...
    I hate everything.

I am excited to see the new guys in this offense. Hell, I'm excited for the "old" guys in this offense. Hopefully we will produce with all this new talent.

Sorry for the Engrish in my wrap-up, was trying to type quickly.

Also, Kelly seemed REALLY drained during the interview.
