I'm sick and tired of all these idiots selling FAKES! This auction is for an Authentic Washington Redskins Joe Theismann jersey in size 42. This jersey was from the 1994 and made by WILSON! This has the correct 75th Anniversary patch!!! This is a must have for the Reskins or Theismann fan! Joe Theismann is an all-time Redskin. Enough said.

Any "Reskins" fan would tell you that in 1994, not only did Joey T not play for the Redskins, the Redskins used Starter for their jerseys.

I also consider myself an expert on Jerseys , Tickets and pretty much everything and anything Redskins.

Man. This guy has all the awesome "Reskins" stuff!

This is a replica, not authentic as advertised.

Reggie brooks retired in 1996, but has a 1997 Authentic available.

    I think its a real deal, just a 1995

Yeah, that guy sells fakes. He's been doing it for years. It's funny because he belittles all the other sellers of fakes while he himself sells fakes. What jumps out at me with the Theismann jersey is the "7". Did the Redskins ever wear a 7 that looked like that? I don't think so. The jersey sucks.

What makes things confusing though is the retail versions. There's tons of different manufacturers of Redskins retail jerseys, and they don't always match the manufacturers for the gamers of a particular year.

That one could actually be authentic - and this is one of the problems I have with the team and/or the league's use of the word authentic.

    Compare:

    Check this out:

Believe it or not, the #14 is my jersey and it's a 2000 AUTHENTIC Brad Johnson jersey which I bought directly from the team via their online store. And let me assure you, it's a piece of ****. I only paid $40 for it, but still, there's a principle involved here. It's crap. The stripes are ridiculously narrow - not even close to the stripes on a game jersey. And the friggin' Adidas logo is a patch. A patch???? Yes, a patch. IT IS SUPPOSED TO EMBROIDERED.

And the teams calls it "authentic."

It is outrageous that they would sell this.

Yeah, there are tons of Brooks burgundy jerseys out there. Many of them come with the NFL 75th anni patch. On this one, I don't like the way the sleeves stop at the underarm.

Hey Mark, I recently purchased a Dexter Manley jersey. It is a Reebok Gridiron Classic. Have you ever seen these before? I paid $80 for it, they orginally wanted $140 but it was on sale. Do you think I got a good deal? I bought it from a local store in the mall. Do you need pics to see how it looks?

I actually wrote about it in the OP way back when:

    NFL Throwback Jerseys

These are licensed NFL jerseys meant to mimic players' jerseys of the past. The below photo is an example, currently available at nflshop.com. I appreciate that they try to make the jersey appear like the one used back in the day - as they substitute the current NFL shield with the one used before. The problem is, Dexter Manley left the Redskins in 1989, and the league did not apply the NFL shield to jerseys until 1991, so the shield is incorrect. Another problem is, in this example of an nflshop throwback, the Reebok logo is incorrect for the period since Reebok logos didn't appear on jerseys until 2002. In fact, Manley never wore a logo of any kind since the first logo didn't appear on a jersey sleeve until 1990. Yet, another problem is - the font of the name on back is a straight font, which is, again, incorrect for the period. Manley never wore a straight font since the straight font wasn't worn by the Redskins for the first time until 1993. Manley wore what is called a varsity font, as did all the players during the Gibbs I era. In my opinion, if the league is going to sell a product called throwback jerseys, they need to do better research and pay significantly more attention to detail.

But what does it matter? If you like it, that's the important thing.

That's why I'm worried to be game-worn jersey. I want to see a pic of them in that jersey but I admit my friend has several and with the stains they look pretty neat

MTH how much did that authentic Monk cost you in the early 90's? Somthing tells me it wasn't $ 289.89 ( love the jersey BTW )...
Eleven months after he left, Riggins returned to training camp in 1981 with a new contract, telling the media "I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back."

I bought that jersey on eBay quite a while back. It came in the original package and original tags. Never worn. I don't remember what I paid but I'll guess $80 or $100. This was way before Monk was up for enshrinement. Also, the odd thing about retail authentics back then is they did not include nameplates or names. So I had to have that done myself and it wasn't expensive but it was a pain in the ass. I had to find the correct fabric, find the correct font, correct font size, correct font width, correct spacing between letters, find the correct paint color, and then once it was done, have the nameplate sewn on in the correct double-X stitch. And the paint color is not quite right because, apparently, either the team or the league has some kind of copyright on that exact color. Can you believe that??? It's true! So I got as close as I could.

    PITA!

    Thanks

Thanks Mark, I didn't see that. I do love it and I only paid half what most people paid for it so I am happy.

Has anyone picked up an 'authentic' jersey from NFLShop.com within the last year or so? I note that they have a 15% off deal this weekend and have thought about picking up a jersey, but wanted to hear some reviews and comments. I'm not a jersey snob; I just want something a bit heavier and nicer than the $80 screened jerseys. Thanks!

Hey everybody. I got kinda screwed by josports. I ordered a #5 burgundy 2006 jersey with the elastic sleeves from their website the day all of the new 2006's came out. I called ahead to inquire about the size, and he also told me they had two #5 burgundy's. There was only one listing for the jersey, so I figured they had two of the jerseys with the elastic sleeves. Anyway, after I ordered mine there was no "SOLD" sign over the picture, and that was no surprise to me because I had been told there were two. A few days later, there appeared a SOLD sign over it, and I figured the second one had been ordered. Then it was taking a while for me to get my order from them, and I was told that they were waiting for COAs from the Skins before sending out their orders. Anyway, I received my package from them two days ago, and they sent me a #5 burgundy jersey with screened sleeves, which of course I do not need and did not order. They even sent with the jersey the printout with the confirmation picture of the jersey with the elastic sleeves, but not the right jersey itself.

So, in the end what happened was that they made a few mistakes. The first was that they did not create two separate listings for the two different jerseys, as they have for other players who have both an elastic-sleeved jersey and a screened-stripe jersey available. The second is that they went ahead and packed my package, including a #5 jersey that looked one way and the picture of a different #5 jersey, and somehow that didn't raise any red flags.

So I contacted them, and the crappy thing is that the package of the correct jersey, which I ordered first, was delivered to the other person who ordered the same jersey a few days after me, on the same morning that my package was delivered.

So I even got screwed by the fact that they were waiting on those Redskins COAs, because that caused both of the packages to be sent out at the same time. If mine had gone out a few days earlier, as it should have, then even the two previous mistakes by j.o. could have been overcome because I would have been able to notify them immediately and if necessary they could have reversed the other package thru UPS, etc., so I could get the jersey I was entitled to receive. As everything stands, I got screwed. I was only told it was delivered to Virginia, and they are trying to reach the person to see if they would be willing to work this out with me.

Anyway, if the person who received the #5 burgundy Bramlet with the elastic sleeves is reading this, please send me a Private Message.
    Thanks.

That sucks...I paid for a jersey on May 15th and still have not received it.

I was given the same line about waiting for certs from the Redskins and now my email to Jeromy has gone unanswered for several days.

Today I got the following email from a "new rep" at josports introducing himself.

Hows everyone doing? I just wanted to send an e-mail to everyone in my contacts introducing myself. I have already introduced myself to a couple people so if you already know who I am then I apologize. My name is Robert Kovacs and I am a new sales rep here at J.O SportsCo. If there is anything you are interested in please don’t hesitate to shoot me an e-mail at any time and I will do the best I can to help you out. I also would like to know what you collect so maybe I can help you out in the future, Please check our website daily as we are putting new products up. I look forward to hearing from everyone and doing future business with you.

    Thanks,

Wonder if Jeromy is still there and wonder where my jersey is!!!

I have a feeling that I will no longer be buying any jerseys from them.
