Naked man found in rainforest near Cairns

A NAKED man was found in dense rainforest south of Cairns in a bizarre rescue that has searchers scratching their heads.

The man, 27, spent a cold night huddled among the trees on a steep ridge behind Bingil Bay at Mission Beach after losing his way, and his clothes, in the rainforest.

He was found sitting on a log in the nude.

Rescuers hauled themselves up a steep rainforested hill to get to him in territory they yesterday called "billygoat country".

"He was sitting there with scratches all over him," teenage searcher Brad Figallo said.

"We saw him and it was like, oh geeze. He'd said he needed some help. But we weren't expecting that.

"But he was more relieved than embarrassed to see us … he told us he thought he was going to die up there."

Police described the man as disorientated, scratched but otherwise not hurt when they found him about 10.30am on Saturday.

Sen-Constable Tony Cliffe said the man told searchers, police and ambulance officers he had no idea how he got up the ridge or where his clothes were.

He said he had been fishing near the spot the previous afternoon.

Naked man targets women in Bucks County

BUCKINGHAM, Pa. (AP) - Police in suburban Philadelphia are looking for a man who has been taking off his clothes and approaching women.

Police in Buckingham Township in Bucks County say the man grabbed a woman who was out jogging on Monday afternoon and held her in a bear hug. He then fled in a small silver sport utility vehicle.

Earlier in the day, police say, a woman walking along a trail in Nockamixon State Park was approached twice by a naked man fitting the description of the man in the Buckingham incident. He fled without assaulting the woman.

The same man is also believed to be responsible for a similar incident reported by a woman in Middletown Township on Nov. 11.

Taser Used To Subdue Naked Man In Washington Chapel

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington police officers had to use a Taser to subdue a naked man reading Bible passages inside the City Mission on West Wheeling Street Sunday night.

Officers said that the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Baltimore-area man would not respond to requests from police to get on the ground.

The suspect was reportedly standing in the pulpit acting as if he was giving a sermon. Police said that the man’s clothes were in a pile on the chapel floor.

A few people were in the chapel at the time. Police said others left because they were frightened.

The suspect was taken to Washington Hospital to receive treatment.

Police in Shippensburg say Brett Tyler Schatte, 21, walked into the Sheetz convenience store wearing no clothing around 2:49 a.m. Schatte reportedly ate a Slim Jim and a bag of chips and downed a bottle of Gatorade, then accosted a female customer.

Naked man escapes flaming tanning bed

A Regina man escaped serious injury when a tanning session went seriously wrong and his tanning bed went up in flames.

The Regina Leader-Post is reporting that the incident happened at the Millenium Tanning Salon in downtown Regina.

From their story:

A bigger person could not have escaped the tanning bed that went up in flames at a downtown Regina salon late this morning, says the man who squeezed out to safety after realizing something had gone very wrong.

Jason Viles was in the bed at Millenium Tanning Salon when something didn’t seem right. He heard a pop, saw some flames and knew he had to get out.

Unable to lift the lid, he had to push a stereo out of the way to push himself through a one-foot opening in the bed to get out. He then alerted staff member Jennifer Weber.

“A guy came in and said his bed was on fire,” said Weber, who was still shaking an hour later from the shock of the morning’s events.

CBC has an interview with Viles including some inadvertently hilarious quotes:


"I had no idea it was going to burst, you know, into flames," he said. "I was just thinking, 'Oh my God, what's going to happen?'"

The naked Viles grabbed his clothes and rushed to safety, as did other people in the salon at the time. Viles suffered some minor burns on his stomach.

Naked couple surprises diners in stroll

SINGAPORE (Reuters) – A couple treated open air diners to a 15-minute naked parade in Singapore, triggering both embarrassment and applause for a scene almost unheard of in the conservative city-state.

Pub manager Terence Chia told the Straits Times newspaper he saw the couple taking off their clothes Saturday night at a staircase in a block of flats in Holland Village, known for its popular nightspots.

"Then, clothes in hand, they coolly walked in their flip-flops toward the market," he said, adding when the couple did a U-turn a sea of spectators was ready and poised with cameras.

"There were more than 200 people and everyone was taking pictures," the newspaper Wednesday quoted Chia as saying. "Even women were busy clicking and people were cheering, whistling and applauding like crazy."

Police said the couple, a Caucasian man and an ethnic Chinese woman in their 20s, had been arrested and released on bail. If convicted under Singapore law, they could face a fine of maximum fine of S$2000 ($1,330), up to 3 months in jail, or both.

Swiss tell naked German ramblers to take a hike

Hordes of naked German hikers, who have recently taken to rambling across the Swiss alps au naturel, have been warned to cover up on this spring or face fines under new legislation aimed at curbing the growing pastime.

The Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden has said it will slap fines of 200 francs (£122) on tourists going naked in the Alps, according to reports.

"We were forced to introduce the legislation against this indecent practice before the warm weather starts," Melchior Looser, the justice and police minister of the canton, told the Guardian.

He said that until now "boot-only hikers" had been free to wander without clothes because was no law to stop them.

So, just in time for the start of the hiking season, the authorities have made one. The fines will start from Feb 9.

The new restrictions have been met with dismay by naked ramblers.

Dietmar, a German lawyer, said he was sad to hear of the Swiss changes. "We simply try to tune into nature," he said. "It's the most harmless pursuit possible."

Appenzell Innerrhoden is known for its beautiful landscape. Last year an internet campaign by a lobby group of hikers declared it to be a "naked rambler paradise", prompting a rush of visitors.

“We have been receiving many complaints,” Markus Dörig, a spokesman for the government of the Appenzell Innerrhoden canton, told The Times. “The local people are upset and we in the government share their concern. How would one feel if one was to go walking in nature and suddenly came across a group of naked people?”

Nude man Tasered going to Bay City church

A nude man was Tasered by police Friday morning before he could enter St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Bay City.

Bay City Police Sgt. Gordon Cameron said the man - believed to be 26 or 27 - indicated to police he was having problems with his parents and walked to the church without so much as a pair of shoes on.

"He wanted to go to the church," Cameron said. "I don't know why."

Police did not release the man's name.

Cameron said the man, who lives on Bay City's West Side, was Tasered by Officer Troy Sierras after he refused to cooperate. Police said the man made several derogatory remarks and cursed at them.

The man, still naked, was detained face down in the church parking lot at 11:45 a.m., surrounded by about seven Bay City police officers and firefighters. Blood dripped from his face, an injury sustained from falling on the pavement after being Tasered, police said.

Naked female found in possession of ’skunk weed’

Some scenarios law officers just can’t be trained for, such as finding a bag of marijuana produced from the rectal area of a female recently engaged in coitus with another female.

Responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store on US 231 shortly before 1 a.m. Friday , deputies found two partially nude females, ages 24 and 20, engaged in sexual activity in a 2005 white Nissan.

After allowing the women to get dressed, Deputies observed multiple white pills in the vehicle, according to a Bay County Sheriff’s Office incident report. The 20-year-old woman told officers the pills, a generic form of Lower Tab Lortab, were hers and she did not have a prescription for them. The woman then confessed to having a baggie of marijuana, which she “retrieved…from her rectum.”

Man pleads guilty to indecent exposure

A Gettysburg man accused of walking out of his home naked, then challenging his neighbors to a karate fight pleaded guilty to charges of indecent exposure in Adams County court.

The charges filed against Gary Jones, 47, of 4820 Old Harrisburg Road, Lot 6, are considered a misdemeanor of the first degree since three of those who saw him naked are under the age of 16.

Under a plea agreement reached with the Adams County District Attorney's office, Jones will spend one month in jail, two months on house arrest and 21 months on probation, and is restricted from any contact with his neighbors. He is also to pay a $200 fine.

According to court documents, Jones was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the Aug. 1 incident occurred.

He is accused of walking out of his home, completely naked. He walked up to Dennis Hucks, Gary Kerns and Andrea Orndorff, according to state police. He told the men he knew karate, and asked if they wanted to fight.

Huck's three children were playing in the yard at the time, according to court documents.

According to police, Jones said he knew leaving the house naked was illegal, but he was a "serious martial artist."

Naked Man Shows Up at Police Station With Plastic Wrap Underwear

So, a naked man walks into a police station wearing nothing but Saran Wrap around his waist and the bartender says . . .

No, it's not the start of a bad joke. Police in Indialantic, Florida (where else?) say that about 7:30 am Monday a nearly naked man walked into their lobby and talked to a female dispatcher. According to the official report, the man--who barely spoke and then only in screams--wore only clear plastic wrap around his waist that "left nothing to the imagination." (Hopefully, he was using Reynold's new "Plastic Weener Wrap." It's supposed to keep your junk 43% fresher!) The guy would only tell them that that he had been robbed and needed a pair of pants. Well, duh!



Now here's the best part of the story: Indialantic officers did not arrest this lunatic, but instead gave him a pair of shorts and let him walk out of the station! Of course, a short while later someone reported a man passed out in the local park and when officers approached, they found that the same nude dude had removed the previously reported shorts and was--not surprisingly--very combative and, according to an officer, ". . . would not keep his clothes on. He didn't like the clothing. We gave him a pair of shorts and it wasn't good enough." The man was eventually taken to the hospital for evaluation and, hopefully, given real pants this time.

Naked boy, 14, on walk with dog, pushes woman, breaks phone

A 14-year-old Saginaw boy has been charged with strong-arm robbery and assault in juvenile court after he pushed a woman and broke her cell phone while taking a walk naked with a large white poodle in Hart Township Monday, police say.

Lt. Craig Mast of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office said a 14-year-old youth walked away from a youth behavioral treatment facility Monday morning, stripped down, and was with a “giant” white poodle when he approached a woman working in her yard just after 11:30 a.m. Monday in the area of Oceana Drive and Lake Road.

“The young naked man approached her with this poodle, and she immediately realized something peculiar,” Mast said.

When the woman asked the boy if he was all right, he told her some statements that didn’t make much sense, Mast said. The boy said his mother had kicked him out of her home in the Saginaw area.

When the woman, 53, of Hart Township, got out her cell phone to call for help for the boy, he assaulted her, pushing her in the upper chest, and took her phone. He fled the scene and broke the phone in half, the sheriff’s office stated.

The woman went to a neighbor’s house and called 911.
