Police find man naked, wrecking bookshelves

A freshman was charged after police say he knocked over books and threatened library patrons.

A freshman in management was charged with simple assault and indecent exposure Wednesday night after he was found naked and knocking books off the shelves on the ninth floor of D.H. Hill Library.

According to Capt. Jon Barnwell, Campus Police found Seth Pace just after 11 p.m. without his clothes, "agitated and in an altered mental state."

"It appears he may have been under the influence of some sort of drug," Barnwell said.

According to Alex Stewart, a freshman in sports management, the naked man ran into the women's restroom on the ninth floor when police arrived. Barnwell said the suspect was not aggressive toward Campus Police.

"I was passing the bookshelves and I heard all this noise. I turned and I see this white dude, butt-naked, he's just tearing up bookshelves," Stewart said. "It was crazy. I thought ‘Wow, is this guy crazy? Is he on drugs?'"


A naked man is captured on a cell phone camera Wednesday night as he knocks books from the shelves in D.H. Hill Library.

Stewart said a crowd of about 15 people stood by and watched the incident.

Female passenger strips naked on flight to JFK

Airport police removed an emotionally disturbed passenger who stripped naked mid-flight between Chicago and New York City Saturday night, authorities said.

The woman, a coach passenger in her 30s whose name wasn't made public, was brought to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, said Jennifer Friedberg, a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, which runs the airport.

Woman Arrested for Indecent Exposure in Md. Store

HEBRON, Md.- A 22-year-old woman is behind bars after police say she took off all of her clothing and sexually harassed customers and employees inside the Royal Farms convenience store in Hebron.

Jennifer Marie Riegler, of Accomac, Va., is charged with disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, disturbance of the peace, theft less than $100, fourth-degree sex offense, malicious destruction of property valued less than $500 and six counts of second-degree assault.



The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says Riegler's arrest stemmed from an incident alleged to have occurred shortly before 9 a.m., Dec. 18, at the Royal Farms located on the 7900 block of Royalty Way.

According to police interviews with store employees, Riegler walked inside the store, removed all of her clothing and strolled naked around the store. Police say she then made sexually suggestive comments to both customers and employees and engaged in sexually suggestive behavior prior to lying on the floor in front of the donut rack.

Naked tourist disrupts traffic, is tased three times

A nude tourist running into traffic and yelling he is “king of the world” was tased on Big Coppitt Key and jailed early Sunday morning.

Richard Gervasi, 43, of Phoenixville, Pa., reportedly also said he is “made of steel” while he was taken into custody. He reportedly had been drinking and took LSD. He was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Danielle Malone responded to the parking lot of Bobalu’s Restaurant at 1:30 a.m. after dispatchers received reports of a nude man running into traffic on U.S. 1. She found three men – Gervasi and two of his friends, all on vacation -- in the parking lot. Gervasi had no clothes on.

Deputy Becky Herrin says he attacked one of his friends when Malone arrived, then ran at the deputy. He refused to stop when told to do so, so Malone tased Gervasi. But that didn’t stop him and he pulled the prongs out of his skin, Herrin said.

Malone hit him with the Taser again, and he went down. Deputy Joe Cortner arrived as backup, but Gervasi got up and started walking toward his friends. He was tased a third time, and finally handcuffed, then taken to Lower Keys Medical Center for evaluation before making the trip to jail.

3 young women found naked, arrested


A woman spotted running naked down a Gainesville street early Saturday morning led to the arrest of three women on charges of indecent exposure, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

The three had been at a party and appeared to be drunk when arrested, said Gainesville police Sgt. Bruce Giles.

About 1:08 a.m., officer Stephanie Pridgen saw a 22-year-old woman running without clothes on westbound in the 1100 block of Northwest 5th Avenue, according to an arrest report.

Then officers found two other naked women -- ages 21 and 22 -- hiding in the shrubbery in the immediate area, the report stated.

Wallingford man charged after 'highlighting' self to woman, police

A 60-year-old Seattle man is facing indecent exposure charges following allegations that a woman walking by his apartment caught him in an act of self-gratification.

According to Seattle police, the 60-year-old woman was passing Jon P. Dupuy's North 53rd Street apartment in Wallingford when she saw the man standing inside of his apartment in front of an open window, masturbating.

Describing the Sept. 28 incident, Seattle Detective Kyle Kizzier said Dupuy – also known as Jon P. Dupy – was still exposing himself when officers arrived at the apartment.

"As they approached the building, but still on the public sidewalk, they could see the naked suspect lying on a table positioned in front of an open window," Kizzier told the court.

"A small reading lamp," the detective continued, "had been positioned on the table to highlight the suspect's genital region."

Woman strips naked in men's room at Sarasota bar

Investigators say a woman was arrested after stripping naked at a Sarasota bar.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, 34-year-old Traci Batcher was at the Thirsty Turtle when she went into the men's restroom and took off all her clothes. She then tried to walk back into the main bar area when the manager stopped her and told her to put her clothes back on. When she refused, the manager called 9-1-1.

A responding deputy found Batcher locked in the men's room. When the manager unlocked the door, she came out topless.

WWSB reports she told the deputy, "You don't understand, I have been married since I was 13 years old and have been married for 16 years."

Deputy investigating report finds truck full of naked people

A Lancaster County sheriff's deputy investigating a suspicious vehicle report early on Feb. 18 got an all-nude revue instead.

Chief Deputy Bill Jarrett said the deputy was investigating the report when he saw a truck matching the description near 140th and West A streets at about 2:25 a.m.

As he approached the vehicle, Jarrett said, the deputy noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the cab of the truck. In the pickup's bed, the deputy found an assortment of clothes and a partially empty case of Busch Light.

And up front, Jarrett said, were two men and two women -- all four naked.

Jarrett said the deputy asked what the four were doing.

"Well, I think we're getting in trouble," one said, according to a sheriff's office report.

Man flees naked after being robbed while trying to buy 'car,' police say

A 24-year-old Madison man lost not only hundreds of dollars in cash but his clothes as well, fleeing naked after he was robbed when, he told police, he went to buy a car at an east-side apartment.

Madison police said the naked man, apparently holding a cereal box in front of his privates, ran to his girlfriend's car outside the apartment in the 4700 block of Cottage Grove Road after the robbery.

Police learned of the robbery at about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, when the victim's girlfriend called 911 after he jumped into her car with nothing on.

"She was being less than cooperative with the dispatcher and ended up saying she couldn't wait for police to arrive because she had to get to work," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain.

Police came to the scene and couldn't find anybody, naked or otherwise.

"The case went cold for a few hours, until the victim called for police to meet him at an East Washington Avenue restaurant," DeSpain said.

Andover Man in the Buff Arrested at Danvers Motel

Police arrested a 63-year-old Andover man at Motel 6 on Monday morning after he was walking around the motel fully nude.

Danvers police arrested a 63-year-old Andover man staying at the Motel 6 on Route 1 early Monday morning for indecent exposure.

Police said the man, Charles Parry, of 6 Random Lane, Andover, was walking around the motel fully nude around 6 a.m. when a female manager spotted him entering the lobby.

The manager confronted Parry and he explained that he was locked out of his room, the woman told police. But just a few minutes later, she spotted Parry again in an upstairs hallway as she was bringing towels to another guest’s room, police said.

Clayton teacher strips at school, arrested

A school teacher who may have been upset about losing his job was arrested after he disrobed at his school and walked around naked.

Harlan Porter was caught by another teacher walking the halls of B.C. Haynie Elementary School in Morrow with his clothes off, according to a police report obtained Wednesday by the AJC.

It was around 3:20 p.m. Friday, after the students had gone home, and no child saw him naked, said Capt. James Callaway of the Morrow Police Department.

"Had he been seen by students, he would have been charged with child molestation," Callaway told the AJC.

Porter, 31, was charged with public indecency and indecent exposure, and booked into the Clayton County Jail. By Wednesday, he was out on a $2,000 bond.

Man Tells Waukesha Police he Won't Run Naked in Downtown Again

A man, who is reportedly mentally ill, spoke with police at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Corrina Boulevard for previously running around naked in the downtown area, according to the Waukesha Police Department call log.

The man told police he would not run around naked again but that the voices in his head were telling him to have sex with a horse, the log states.

Woman accused of dancing naked in Mesa Cemetery


A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure after she was seen dancing completely nude in the Mesa Cemetery on Friday morning, Mesa police said.

Police said Kara Mitchell removed her top and danced around for a minute in the Mesa Cemetery in the 1200 block of North Center Street in Mesa.

Police said Mitchell then dropped her pants and continued spinning around in front of cemetery employees, customers looking for plots and several groups of visitors who were paying respects to the deceased.

A crazed naked man seen menacing New York City subway passengers on a scary new viral video was handcuffed and transported to a Bronx hospital last week, but not charged in connection with the bizarre incident, according to police.

The man’s May 2 outburst occurred on a northbound 6 train in the Hunts Point Avenue station in the south Bronx. As seen in the video, which was originally uploaded to YouTube by a straphanger, the man yelled racial and ethnic slurs as he finished removing his pants.

After hurling himself into a set of doors, the man took off his boxer shorts, which elicited squeals from shocked observers. As a police officer was talking on his radio, the man bolted from the subway car and accosted a woman walking up a stairway. After slamming a package of hers to the ground, he lunged at a man walking perilously close to a platform edge.

With the help of some male onlookers, the cop succeeded in wrestling the man to the ground, where he was subdued. A police spokesman told TSG that the man, 41, was treated as an emotionally disturbed person and transported in custody to Lincoln Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

The Transit District 12 officer with whom he grappled suffered a minor injury for which he was treated and released at Jacobi Hospital, the spokesman added.
