    Default Business / Cocktail Attire

As weird as this topic is, I am leaving for Ohio for the Hall of Fame induction, and it is a package deal with a dinner and things like that autograph signings things like that tossed in well some of the stuff requires a certain attire and I know nothing about any of it other then jeans and a t-shirt and my skins jearsy on sundays.

So my question is what would be a business /cocktail attire for like a banquet deal.

At the minimum I would say a dress slacks, button down and a sport coat. If you were a suit with a tie you are definitely covered. You can always lose the tie.

I'm an old fashioned type of guy. Always bring something semi-dress. You never no. Plus, you may decide to go a night out on the town or something like that.

grey suit/ light grey dress shirt/ solid or striped tie ~ perhaps a hint of red or burgandy small pin stripe in it/ black shoes/ black socks; if I remember correctly

To go semi formal, just take off the tie

A man can always wear khaki pants and a blue blazer. You can even wear it with a nice t shirt, although nothing with writing on it, and it's better with an oxford shirt or at least a polo style.

A woman, that's a different story. My wife would try on several outfits, then put the first back on, then different shoes. But that would be the same problem if it were a formal wedding or a back yard BBQ.

Business casual is no tie and optional jacket. Business attire would be shirt, tie, and jacket. It can be a blazer and nice slacks versus a suit. For something like this you need to look professional.
