Default Zorn: "Clinton Portis called the play"

"Clinton willed his way to get the first down" (regarding the 4th and 2 in the 4th quarter)

We are very lucky to have a football player like Clinton. He is the best RB the Redskins EVER had.

nice catch he had too.. i dont remember any rb ever to block like him.. watch him in some short screens that gain us big yards in the near future..
1979, Jim Haslett won rookie of the year.. Then admitted he was on Steroids..~wikipedia

I'm guessing you're too young to remember Riggo, except from highlights. There's a reason that guy's in the Hall of Fame.

And to believe some people still debate to this day about whether or not the trade with Denver was worth it.........

Love CP, but let's not forget Riggi when you talk about all time best backs for the Skins.

CP is running better than I have ever seen him run. He's always been a great all around back, but making huge plays and staying on his feet. Loved his run on 4 and 2. Awesome.

We shouldn't have given them a 2nd rounder, but then again you'd have to think we probably wouldn't have gotten Chris Cooley if we gave up a lower pick.

    That was a crucial play.

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.

man i knew it was gonna be a draw play, i know other people did to. he just punched his way in there and kept on driving his legs, right behind his hogs. that kinda play is defining our season!

True. we could have gotten a second rounder from them I Think/ That was before Danny and VInny knew what VALUE meant.

To be fair, Zorn called the personnel and formation. I think he basically let Portis choose where he wanted to run. It's still cool, but it's not like the players are just freewheeling out there.

Considering that Portis has been a home run back, a bruiser back and is now back to being a well-balanced back who is one of the best pass blocking backs to play the game (I'm talking Walter Payton-type blocking here as feature back) and can catch better than Riggo--Portis is a more talented better back.

Riggo IS a Hall of Famer. Doesn't mean Portis is not the better running back.

You will give the Redskins an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders.

Portis was all heart and willpower on that 4th down play. It was awesome to see.
