    Default 5-2 or 4-3

Alright, so in my mind there is a huge difference between these two records based on how our season has gone so far. There is no clear cut contender this year and 5-2 puts toward the top. 5-2, with a little unlikely help, makes us the best team in the NFC by Sunday evening.

On the other hand, 4-3 is pretty damn lousy, which would mean two home losses in a row to struggling teams after those two huge wins on the road. It would mean stuck in the pack of wild card contenders that is very full, going in the wrong direction, very depressed.

Conclusion: this is a tipping point game. win and we are still kind of good/sky is the limit.

I thought you were talking about defenses from the thread title.

Of course 5-2 is better, but we'd still be in good shape at 4-3.

Ive been thinking about this comparison all week. Im scared of becoming 4-3. We need to win this division!!! We can do it, we just have to beat teams like the Browns and Lions.

i was thinking about 4-3 on my way to lunch today too

the funny thing is 4-3 at the beginning of the year would have been right where i put us and in a great position

however, this would be an UGLY 4-3 this is a huge game i agree

hopefully we can be talking 6-2 by sunday night!

I want to win this division, so we need to win against the Browns. Things would of been better if we had that Rams game back, but you know that is not happening. Being 5-2 is important, but you still have to be aware of your NFC E opponents. Just like the Eagles won last week, and everyone else in the division lost. The Eagles are creeping back. They are 0-2 in division, but it doesn't stop them from finishing 4-2 in the division and making a playoff run. We need to stay on top of our game, every game if we are going to compete for the division title. Staying on top of our game is what we failed to do against the Rams. We SHOULD win aginst the Browns, and I hope we do. Most importantly, we need to have our mindset in winning the division, so we will be in a better position than we have been the last 2 out of 3 years at the bottom of a wildcard slot.

There are too many teams bunched up at 4-2 in the conference right now with a lot of 3-3 teams right behind them. We can't be treading water this early in the season.....Sunday is a must win in my mind.

4-3 would upset me because I would then come back down to Earth and realize we aren't as good as I thought we were.

At least 5-2, I can write off the Rams game as an abberation

Look, we are going to beat the browns so bad that the league decides the scoreboard must have been broken last week and we actually won. The skins will be 6-1 after this game....

Ok seriously, I think the team knows what is on the line. If we play our game and control the ball, we win. I dont see a blowout but a win is a win.

    No ****!

I'm just saying this team needs to stay ahead of the pack instead of stuck in it for once.

Well, considering before the season I had us at 3-3 at this stage, with 3 road division loses, were WELL ahead of that schedule, and should be 5-1 if it wasn't through our own foley.

5-2, we don't beat ourselves' this week.

Oh, and in the great scheme of things, as pissed and down as i'd feel, to drop to 4-3 wouldn't be as bad as it might of been given our division and NFC record. This would also only be an inter-conference loss. I still think, given the way everyone else is beating each other, 12- 4 wins the division, 10-6 will get you in the playoffs.

    Hail.

After starting 0-1, to predict 4-2 would be crazy.

    However, here we are.

The Redskins won 4 straight games against teams that were predicted to do well this season.

NOW...We all expect the Redskins to make the palyoffs.

We would be upset if the Redskins did not make the playoffs after starting 4-1 after all three road division games.

4-3 would totally SUCK after starting 4-1 and losing to the Rams and Browns at home.

Losing to the Browns at home after losing to the Rams at home would be 100% INEXCUSABLE!!!!

I could agree with this. I'd add that if we lose, those big division wins will seem even more like flukes.
