    Default Larry Sabato Election Prediction

A terrific link, and a look at every local race (including house, senate and governor races)

The hotter the heat, the harder the steel, no pressure no diamonds, we compete, we win

We are the next decade of the Washington Redskins

I'll believe North Carolina when I see it, but otherwise...this looks right.

Republicans are going to be a super-minority in the House. And I have to wonder...would 58 or 59 dems in the Senate be Filibuster-proof considering the Collins, Snowes, and Spectors of the world? One would think that the Dems would always be able to pull a liberal Republican vote when they needed it.

I am not sure if that would happen with such a steep minority in the Senate. I think R's will stick tightly together

Sabato right now has Norm Coleman beating Franken. I don't think that happens from some polls I have seen

That would be 60, along with Lieberman

I think Coleman and Dole both pull it out. That Dole ad is just borderline evil, but it is probably enough to win in NC.

The seat I really really really want is McConnell's.

You think it helps Dole to be seen calling her democratic rival godless, with no evidence? Dole's add voices over her oponents voice on top of pictures of a rally she didn't attend.

I think that might have sold in South Carolina in 2000, it's not going to sell in 2008. People are just tired of that type of baseless libel.

I think Dole looses in a tight race and she will end up blaming that add for her defeat.

I think the Presidencial race is much tighter than the polls show. I think McCain has a decent shot to still win this thing. I don't think Obama has made any mistakes or given him opennings, but I think Obama needs a higher margin to call this race safe. Obama might have more voters and a lot of new voters, but I think McCain's got the more dependable voters.

North Carolina is still the state that elected Jesse Helms until it proves otherwise. Maybe this is the year this kind of campaigning does not work. We will see.
