Redskins Waiting For "The Perfect Redskin Storm" or "TPRS"

I am still waiting for that perfect game. I know there isn't a such thing a perfectly played game, but the Redskins haven't come close to great game in all four phases(coaching, special teams play, defense, and offense).

At least once this year, I want to see a game where we commit few penalties (or none like the NE Patriots), no turnovers, no drops, no missed open receivers, great DL play, no dropped interceptions, no missed tackles, and no dumb play calls or worse bad clock management.

Am I asking for too much? Probably, but I would like to come close to this standard one week. The closest game I remember the Skins having like this was last year against Detroit. I hope "TPRS" happens a couple times this year and hopefully at least three times during the playoffs.

Realistically, I just want a game where we don't shoot ourselves in foot with penalties, don't drop easy interceptions, have at least one DL dominate an offensive lineman, don't get J. Campbell killed by a missed block, or for JC to not miss wide open receivers. If they do that, then I will have my version of "TPRS". If they do that more than once this season, then Redskins will have a Super Bowl ring.

When was the last time you saw "TPRS"? And do you think you will see "TPRS" this year?

    *TPRS=The Perfect Redskins Storm

I always ask for more. I am guessing you are a bare minimum guy. Why do we have to nail bite our way through each game?? I hope we get better too, but can't really say our execution has gotten better. The past few games against weak opponents we didn't play to our potential. This why the players and coaches are all pissed; they know they keep playing subpar. They are frustrated. We are luck to be 6-2. We could have easily lost 2 games and be sitting 4-4 or worse.

Arguably the last time we had this was last year vs. the Lions or go back to 2005 vs. the horrible 49ers.

At this point I just want a win, especially vs. a good Pittsburgh team.

Yeah, A win would be great short term. A win is great anytime, but I will say this ... I would rather play extraordinary and lose; than play very bad and win. Now, I say this because we at this point can afford this to happen. Later, this year and in the playoffs you really don't care how you win. But, this team needs to realize its potential. I believe once we have the really good game, then it will became addictive. If we keep winning ugly, then I believe it will catch up with the team.

Maybe I am asking too much...but I am a fan.

Then you're insane lol...wins, ugly or beautiful, ALWAYS trump losses. Always.

Now, I say this because we at this point can afford this to happen.
No we can't. The Skins aren't 5 games ahead of the pack...they can't "afford" any type of loss, no matter how many style points go with it.

Later, this year and in the playoffs you really don't care how you win. But, this team needs to realize its potential.
It's impossible to "realize your potential" when you lose.

In 2005, we had as close to a "perfect Redskins storm" as possible when we demolished the 49ers. The very next week, we were hammered by the Giants, 36-0. Nothing "addictive" came from it.

Also in 2005, we had as close to a "perfect Redskins storm" as possible when we dominated the Cowboys, 35-7. Two weeks later, we're falling behind the Eagles and their back-up QB something like 17-7. A week later we're generating a whopping 120 yards of offense against the Bucs. Nothing "addictive" came from the "perfect" 35-7 game against Dallas.

I'd rather the team win and still realize they have areas they need to truly improve and focus on, than win and feel as if they've reached their potential already, to be honest. I'd rather they realize that they can indeed still win even when everything isn't going "perfect"...the win against the Eagles, where they found themselves down 14-0 almost right off the bat, was FAR more beneficial to the team, I think, than if they beat the Eagles 30-0. Because there will be far more times when they're down two scores than there will be where they play perfectly...and it can't be anything but good for the team to see the benefits of never giving up, for them to see that no matter how bleak it looks, they CAN fight back and still take control of the game and win.

Blowouts are good for fans moreso than for the teams, I think...

You're not asking for too much...but don't let yourself diminish the very real good that the Skins have accomplished in their wins so far.

So what you are saying that as long as you get down the road, it doesn't matter how the car is running. I believe that how you play is indicative of who you are as a team. Good teams play good ball. A bad team can have a winning record.

I agree with that, but we will not "realize our potential" if we don't correct our mistakes.

In 2005, we were an average team playing a very bad team. We are a good team this year not playing up to our potential.

Once again, in 2005 we an average team. I think the win streaks and the losing streaks in the past few year were "addictive". Winning and losing can be contagious.

I don't want a "blowout", never said I did, I want a great game to played. I want excellence, and I will take the result of great game played by our team anyday.

Maybe, I was raised differently or maybe I am used to something different. I grew watching Redskins teams that were good and on occasion great. They excelled and were not happy with just barely winning or putting up with mistakes. This is one of the best Redskins' teams I have seen in a few years. It seems as fans we have been dumb downed and we almost expect the Redskins to make mistakes.

Do not misunderstand me. I LOVE THE FACT WE ARE WINNING! But, I am concerned that Redskins continue to play to the level of the competition instead of playing beyond their potential. Maybe, I am crazy or misguided, but this is the way I feel. I would rather see them execute a great game and lose than see this team fumble its way to a close victory. I believe once "this team", not the one in 2005 or any other year, plays up to it potential it will never look back.

    3 questions:

    1. Isn't "The Perfect Storm" the movie where Vince Papale goes down with the ship while crab fishing?

    2. Wasn't he a Philadelphia Eagle and

    3. do we need him for TOTAL TPRS???

3.5. If 2 is YES, why do we need him?
