Thread: Sellers on Pittsburgh fans at Fed Ex: "That was ridiculous"

Well I'm glad the Steelers fans won't get to see their team play at FedEx Field again for a very long time.

I'm also glad when the Cowboys game isn't showing on TV or it gets switched and many of the bandwagoners can't see "their team"
There's a reason why there are Washington Redskins stores and no Dallas Cowboys stores around here. There's a reason why there are pictures of Redskins on the outside of the Metrobus. There's a reason why they don't switch from Redskins games. There's a reason why when they show the highs and lows for the weather that they put a Redskins helmet on the day the Redskins are playing like how they have other things for holidays.

I can't believe the audacity of some Cowboys fans to wonder why they don't get as much coverage as the Redskins do. Are you flipping serious?!?

Umm, sorry I got carried away...
But the point is, this is SUPPOSED to be Redskinsville, Redskinsland, Redskinstown, Redskins country and seeing our colors diluted by any colors except for burgundy and gold makes me angry.

Don't know why anyone is surprised. Steeler fans are everywhere and are known for traveling anywhere to watch their team play.

I remember seeing tons of Steeler fans in a pre-season game at Fed-Ex.

awhile back Capitals vs Penguins in a playoff game at the Verizon Center (then called the MCI center), the caps blocked ticket sales if you had a Pennsylvania zip code. would be nice if the same thing happened for the redskins.

Please see my "soap box" posts in other threads If you guys and girls care about this, you will continue to beat this into the ground until someone gives us some answers. The performance was one thing and understandable based on the team they were playing and the state of their health. The mass amounts of visiting fans cannot be explained by us. That's a question that we have to ask Snyder.

Preseason is different. Lots of folks go on vacation in August and if fans know that they're paying a lot of money to see their starters in the game for a half tops, and they want to sell their tickets, fine.

But last night showed me that too many of our season-ticket holders are just interested in recouping some of their costs instead of actually going to the game.

Unless it's my zip code...that wouldn't be cool

    1. Sellers should shut up because the team's performance enabled the Steelers fans that were there to be loud.

    2. If you gave your ticket to a Steeler fan hand in your fan card.

    3. The Steelers have some of the most fairweather fans ever. They are like Yankees fans. Half of them just say "I just picked them" and think they are real fans.

    4. The Steelers are the AFC version of the pukes. When they are winning their fans are everywhere; when they are losing you can't find any. Their fans are arrogant and annoying.

    5. A Steelers fan watching the game with me at my house said, "So much for the loudest stadium in the NFL." I was like, "We are on offense." He said, "So? The crowd should still be loud." End of story

“Hey, about an hour ago, all right, their [defensive] coordinator [Juan Castillo] told us, told [offensive line coach Chris] Foerster, that [if] the Giants would have lost last week, they were in the playoffs,” Kyle Shanahan said. “He didn’t mention that they had to beat us today. **** him, **** these guys. In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right ****ing today.”

FedEx is too big. But unfortunately we have to live with it. I just can't believe that many people decided not to go to a MNF game when we were coming in at 6-2. If the Cowboys game is even close to this, that'll just be sad.

    That's hilarious.

And I can just see the 'burghers try to devise ways to get around the system though.

Truth is, there's a Steelers bar in every major city in America, because Pittsburgh natives have pulled up stakes and moved away from home in large numbers.

The notion that Steelers fans 'travel well' is a little misleading. Sure, some of them do travel...but in reality many of them already LIVE wherever a given game is taking place.
Yep, the steel industry dried up, the city almost died. Pittsburgh and most of western PA has been a declining economy and population for probably 20+ years now. There are soooo many of them relocating down this way for jobs. I am marrying on of them, and YES, I took her to the game last night. Much like the other Steeler's fans, she was very excited to get to see her hometown team play. I do not blame her, or the others for coming out and getting tickets to the game to see their team play.

Steelers fans are indeed well-spread and extraordinarily devoted. However, last night's turnout was less than in some places.

I took my father-in-law (a Steelers fan) to a Steelers-Jets game at Giants Stadium last year. I would say the crowd was 60 percent Steelers fans.

Proximity-wise, it's not that long a drive either. Bottom-line -- anyone can get tix to FedEx these days.

Is there a solution? Short of banning eBay, no.
