That's if we play them (or Buffalo) at home. I can understand their desire for tickets, but I'd chastise any 'Skins fan who sold or gave a ticket away to them.
You also have to factor in the people in MD who became Steelers fans after the Colts left Baltimore.

Sellers isn't the only player pissed from what I heard. It is ridiculous though. Im down here in NC, and it's all they've talked about all day on sports radio

[QUOTE=skinsfan4221977;5780554]Steelers fans are indeed well-spread and extraordinarily devoted. However, last night's turnout was less than in some places.

I took my father-in-law (a Steelers fan) to a Steelers-Jets game at Giants Stadium last year. I would say the crowd was 60 percent Steelers fans.

Last year when you went to that game it was after a bye week and the Jets were 1-8. Far different situation from that in which the Skins were in.

Sellers and the other whining players really ought to be more pissed off about their own performances. They got their butts kicked.

I'm sorry but people are blowing this out of proportion.

The stadium seats 90,000 people. Ticket broker sites such as stubhub and cheaptickets have thousands of tickets available. Now if you are a Skins fan, you can pick and choose when you want to buy a ticket from those sites depending on price and when scheduling works for you. If you are a Steelers fan, you are going to do whatever it takes to buy a ticket for this particular game.

Also, I have seen Redskins fans take over Arizona and San Francisco in numbers just as big.

The reason the Steelers fans were so loud is because after the score became 10-6, the Redskins fans had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to cheer about. They basically had to sit there and watch their team get pummled.

Of course it is going to make it seem like there were more Steelers fans then there actually was.

I'd also say a big part of this has to do with the fact that every seat in Fed Ex is owned by a season ticket holder and a lot of them won't let go of their season tickets even though they don't go to games most of the time and just sell them off.

If people would just let go of their season tickets and instead you had a hungry fan base that was willing to be there, things would change.

It reminds me of Oakland Athletics games out here. The attendance is rather poor, but everyone in the stadium is loud and proud and from the noise you would think the games are sold out.

At Fed Ex there is a bunch of people there seemingly for the event or spectacle, not so much because they care about the team and/or winning.

It is a shame what has happened over the years because RFK Stadium used to be one of the best home field advantages around.

I somewhat agree, but at the same time, as a player they kind of count on homefield support, and when they so overwhelmingly don't get it, I'm sure its really frustrating. Probably feels like they got sold out. But they sure did play like ****.

You're right about that. It's just a shame how much the game has changed, become so corporate, and less about the fan. I miss RFK.

See that's just it NoCal. People will talk about how great Skins fans are and will point to the consecutive sellout streak. But if those same people buying the tickets aren't actually going to the games, what does that mean?

I've always maintained that its not how many sellouts you have but how the fans who actually show up perform.

Do you think this teaches people a lesson, or should we expect this again the next time we play Pittsburgh?

Ditto, but I am sure having to go to a silent count and having Steelers fans yelling the entire time didn't help things out at all.

Yeah, it really pissed me off too. Whoever the hell is selling their tickets to Steelers fans needs to relinquish their ST status right now. It was ridiculous.

Much like cowboys fans, you swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting a pittsburg fan in the head with it around here.

It's what this franchise has become under Danny... and it was embarrassing

But, there are a lot of people from PA that live in this area

Well, I think this post pretty much sums up how dire the scenario was at FedEx last night. When you have diehards like Pez and Huly, people who do so much to facilitate fan support of our guys, saying they're ashamed, well, that's ****ing bad. `

The skins charge too much for the game experience. I don't have season tickets because the prices are outrageous, but the organization only has itself to blame for the poor game experiences that induce white collar ticket holders to cut their losses on certain games.

As for the players, the only thing they are allowed to ***** about after last night is their own performance. The fans have sat through a lot of **** on the field, they can deal with one of weak attendance.
