COVINGTON — A Cincinnati Ben-Gals cheerleader was indicted Thursday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student when she was a teacher at Dixie Heights High School.

A Kenton County grand jury indicted Sarah Jones on first-degree sexual abuse. She was also indicted on a charge unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited acts. The charges are felonies that are each punishable by up to five years in prison.

Her mother Cheryl Jones was indicted on a charge of tampering with physical evidence in her daughter’s case. Cheryl Jones, the principal at Twenhofel Middle School in Independence, expressed surprise when informed by a reporter of her indictment. She referred all questions to her lawyer. The tampering charge is also a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

You all remember the story of former teacher and married man Christopher James Hooker, 41 who not only quit his job, but left his wife and kids to move in with former student Jordan Powers, 18. Well, at least according to police, Powers was NOT the first high school girl Hooker hooked up with and they arrested him for an inappropriate relationship he had with a 17-year-old girl back in 1998.

Jordan Powers, 18, told ABC News that when Christopher James Hooker, 41, called her from jail after his arrest Friday she told him, "We're done." During Saturday's interview with ABC, Powers said she had "lost everything for this guy." "I lost my senior year. I gave up all my friends at high school because they didn't agree with me," said the former Enochs High School student.

Powers told ABC News that Hooker told her he met the other student, who was 17 in 1998, online.

Agree with the sentiment, but there doesn't have to be a reason for you know. It's not out of the realm of possibility, especially at a young age and drugs and real lack of consent due to age or whatever is involved.

It can be rape whether the victim, male or female, is aroused at all. Especially with alcohol or any other drug.

Newlywed teacher and cheerleading coach, 29, 'had sex with an underage student'

A newlywed teacher has been arrested over allegations of having under age sex with one of her students.

Megan Denman has been banned from the classroom while police carry out their investigation.

Police in Fresno, California, said their initial inquiries indicate that the 29-year-old social studies teacher was only involved with one student.



The sexual activity took place away from the campus of Hoover High School where Denman also helped out as a cheerleading coach.

COVINGTON, Ky. -- In an email obtained Friday, Sarah and Cheryl Jones' attorney, Charles Lester, is asking a judge to raise his clients' bond.

Lester says the Bengal cheerleader and her mother are willing to pay an additional $50,000 to be in contact with the victim's family.

"Although they appreciate the reduction of the bail to $15,000 each, they find that they would prefer the original bond with the original conditions," wrote Lester.

On Monday, Judge Patricia Summe reduced Sarah and Cheryl's bond by $50,000. The Jones were ordered to disable text messaging on their phones, and not to contact the victim or his family.

Sarah, a former Dixie Heights High School English teacher, is charged with sexually abusing a student, and using electronic means to solicit illegal activity.

Ever hear of statutory rape & age of consent?? Many jurisdictions classify "rape" as sexual conduct, generally intercourse, between an of aged female and an under aged male.

Technically he's partially right though. According to law up until recently men could not be rape. Its only more recently that rape of males has started to be actually recognized. Rape of males previously was categorized as assault.
