"I don't even know if . . . are we favored to win?" Looks like Pierce has to make up imaginary reasons to try to pump himself up. Shoot, if I played the worst game of my career in the last meeting between the teams, I'd probably try to change the subject too.

This is the well-worn Patriots play where you try to make it seem that everyone is against you so after you win you can say "Nobody believed in us!" It worked last year because no one believed in them but they are the goddamn number 1 seed in the NFC. 7 of 8 Philly writers picked them to win.

Now, they are pissed that DeSean Jackson is on the cover of SI with the title "dangerous". I guess no one gave them the memo that SI does a regional cover the week after wildcard weekend and features a player from each of the winners in that area of the country.

The worst part is now their whiny fans are playing the same game. Every NY based article I read has fan comments below that have them playing this crybaby role. What a joke.

I agree the underdog stuff worked last year but shouldn't even be a thought. They're the defending champs and should be acting like it.
