Default Westbrook hates: The Giants always trying to be the underdog.

Come on, grow up. These guys are ****ing unbelievable. "The good thing about it, we're back to being the hunter; we're huntin' again," Antonio Pierce said yesterday. "I don't even know if . . . are we favored to win?" Looks like Pierce has to make up imaginary reasons to try to pump himself up. Shoot, if I played the worst game of my career in the last meeting between the teams, I'd probably try to change the subject too.

This is the well-worn Patriots play where you try to make it seem that everyone is against you so after you win you can say "Nobody believed in us!" It worked last year because no one believed in them but they are the goddamn number 1 seed in the NFC. 7 of 8 Philly writers picked them to win.

Now, they are pissed that DeSean Jackson is on the cover of SI with the title "dangerous". I guess no one gave them the memo that SI does a regional cover the week after wildcard weekend and features a player from each of the winners in that area of the country.

The worst part is now their whiny fans are playing the same game. Every NY based article I read has fan comments below that have them playing this crybaby role. What a joke.

I agree the underdog stuff worked last year but shouldn't even be a thought. They're the defending champs and should be acting like it.

Antonio Pierce exemplifies most Giant fans. They are and always have been a whiny bunch (except Tom).

I didn't realize Jackson made the SI cover. That has been a pretty historical jinx westy.

Was just reading the article you're referring too.

Thats alright. If Westy gets lined up with Pierce again 1 on 1 it should be fun. Since Pierce couldn't catch Westbrook if he were on crutches.

Of course the Giants are the underdog. The Eagles are the best team in the NFL.

I just hope the Giants can keep the game close and avoid getting blown out.

Except the fact that SI has been doing this the last couple of years after the wild card round. I guess the regional cover they did on the Giants last year and the Steelers the year before jinxed them, right?

Goaldeje hates Eagles fans using the 3rd person in thread titles.

If it was just in the body of the thread, that wouldn't be a problem. But really? In the title?

Having said that, I, uh, em, actually agree with you. Giants fans and players are VERY annoying when playing the underdog card. They actually did it during the year as well, when ESPN was handing out free BJ cards to anyone in a Giants uniform.

BTW, I want to clarify something right now. The original post was by me, Steve Burkett, and not the thoughts of Brian Westbrook. I post under the username "Westbrook36".

I'd hate for this thread to be referenced on a Giants messageboard, which perhaps Antonio Pierce reads. Next thing you know, Pierce would be disrespected for the second time! No one expects us to win!

In the preaseason, most pundits didn't think the Giants would make it to the playoffs.

If you very carefully read my post, I did not reference the preseason, did I? I think I referenced during the season. You know, when you were getting slurped day after day.

Yup. Their rise has been quite inspiring. Now they have to try to overcome the odds against the hottest team in league.

Even at 5-1, most were insinuating that the Giants would swoon once the tough part of their schedule started.
