hunterx, how has P90X been going for you? I've been doing it for nearly 1 1/2 years now, and still really enjoy it. I've mixed it up a bit with Insanity and P90X2 to keep things interesting.

I started my 5th round of P90X/P90X2 a couple weeks ago. Weight is holding steady at around 195. As far as supplements go, the only things I'm using right now is a multi and whey protein. I've cycled off of the creatine for awhile.

Last week, I was sitting in the break room at work eating lunch, (Veggies and fruit) and a coworker came up to me and said, "Hey man, you look really good, to bad you can't eat". All I could do for a second or two was stare at him while he shoved his bean baritto down his pie hole. The shadow off the guys rear end weighs 10lbs, and he's talking to me about eating. Funny thing is, I don't feel like I'm sacrificing. I've made a choice to fuel my body with quality food, and I don't miss that crap anymore.

    Keep Pushing Play!

Power Shot & Recovery Shot both look like excellent products IMO. I really need the pre-workout drinks to get me going.

Power Shot & this product http://www.vitacost.com/hi-tech-phar...s-n-o-overload together would be an amazing combination.

I don't like using products that contain sucralose, but the above is supposed to have a negligible amount.
No offense but those things contain a lot of ingredients that don't do anything or are more expensive (and less productive) than similar things. If you're going to invest in things that work I'd say stick to maybe creatine and beta alanine. If you're looking to get amped up just drink coffee.

I agree. I've learned the hard way. If most of those supps worked as advertised I would be jacked. It's all bells, whistles and BS. Not to mention potentially dangerous.

3rd day in a row of the pre-opening of the gym workout. Kettlebell complex and then a body weight complex, superset mash up. All before opening the place. Think I'll double up today and do some tabata running and other cardio after work.

1 month in to the pre gym opening workouts. Didn't think I would ever see the day I'd be working out that early,(5a.m. and earlier),but actually enjoying them. Have the place to myself. Legs and arms this morning so that was a bit of a challenge,(coffee hadn't quite hit yet at first),but got it all in before opening.

Has anyone here tried trail running before?

I'm going to add it to my conditioning routine this weekend. I found a few decent trails in Rock Creek Park that should provide a different kind of run. Pretty excited about trying something new.

Oh wow, yep, I bet you have some .5 mile trails that use the energy of 3+ mile trails here.

Yeah I've done a 4 mile trail run before. It wasn't terrible, but some of the hills can be rough.

Yeah we have a few butt kickers here. That whole rapid elevation change can make things entertaining.

Speaking of trails. Asics trail runners are the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. Extremely comfortable, durable and very, very versatile.

Tabata running on the turf field before work. Think I'll change things up just a little and add an afternoon, early evening workout to the conditioning days. Jog a mile to these series of trails behind the nearby middle school then do some sprints up and down them,(about 40 yards or so). There's a gentle incline and they have some turns in them. Follow those up with a light jog back,(unfortunately,it's almost all uphill for that).

I finally hit the trail that I've been eyeing this past Sunday afternoon. It was .5 miles one way so I got in a decent mile going down it and back. I kept my pace fairly slow just to keep and eye out for roots or rocks or anything that I might trip over, plus I had to cross some water a few times, but it was fun overall, I even saw a deer. I had No-Gi BJJ last night and tonight I'm going to just hit the gym and lift, so tomorrow I will have earned a solid rest day plus something good for dinner.

    Man, insomnia sucks.

So I last fall while I was sweating my fat ass off in the summer heat of my 8-year old's outdoor football practices, which lasted 5 nights a week from 6-8 mind you- I dropped 5 pounds because I wasn't eating much of a dinner. Then, I started doing pushups, crunches and curls around the house. I dropped from 239 to 210 by January and I hit a wall.

I was sitting in the man cave drinking Sam Adams #3 for the evening routine, and I see this whacky P90X infomercial. What the hell, I ordered it. The whole package sat for several weeks in the hallway, til February 28th I put the pull up bar together and popped in the first DVD. I finished on May 18th. I dropped to 184. Went on a short vacation with my wife and did Kenpo X one day while I was there. I felt kind of lost without a routine.

So when I got back I started round 2 on May 26th. I'm now in week 5 and down to 179 pounds, I'm 6'2" and the pant size has gone from 38-40 waist to 34 (which are now a little baggy and probably a 32 now). Love handles are gone and starting to really see and feel the abs and everything else. I'm 38 and back to my high school weight, but much more healthy and muscular. The most amazing thing is the energy level and endorphin release. I dread it, but I look forward to it at the same time, if that makes any sense. Quit smoking too, obviously. Best gift I ever gave myself!

Good to hear you're getting such quick results from P90. If you like that style of home workouts you'd love Insanity, those really kick your butt.
