An easy four miles this morning before breakfast. A beautiful day to run on the trail but the legs didn't want to get going on the hills.
But now I don't have to worry about squeezing in a run later.

No. You work out your triceps when you workout your back. I would not superset them, but I would work them out the same day.
The whole idea of supersetting is to keep your heart rate up and get a full workout for each muscle group. If you superset chest and triceps, you will not be able to get your full potential reps on your chest because your triceps are fatigued. Its important to focus on the larger muscle groups first because they work out the smaller muscles in the mean time.
So if you want to workout both on the same day, I would do a complete chest exercise first, then do a tricep workout. You obviously won't need to workout the triceps as much because your chest will have already weakened them and they are a smaller muscle group.
It would be good to workout chest and back since you already did shoulders and biceps, if you are going the superset route.

Thanks for the info. I would do back except I did it yesterday with my shoulders and biceps. I break down my upper body into 2 days and then do legs the third and if I get a fourth its a cardio day.
really? cardio's the easy part. It's lifting weights that's dull and boring.
But, nevertheless, today I am sore from the 4 sets of deadlifts I did and my arm exercises. And I played some bballToday I'll work on legs- maybe some more deadlifts and some different squats and lunges. Maybe a run on the treadmill...
Yeah man, it's actually really fun now to run. It used to be such a chore. Plus, if you're "negatively" motivated (negative experiences push you more) like I am, watching that 68 year old grandma beat me in my first 5K was just killer. If there isn't more of a wake up call to get fit, I don't know what.
A fun toy to get along with your iPod is a Nike+. It's a sensor you attach to your shoe and it tracks the distance you ran and the speed. Then everytime you sync your iPod it uploads your results to a web page. Other people with device do the same and you can compare your results with other people. People have "races" to see who can log 100 miles first. There's a competition between countries (US, UK, etc) to see who can log more miles.
If i could play sports for my cardio, I would do it all the time no problem! Its the running in place on a treadmill that kills me. I definitely need competition and just running for time is so hard to get motivated about. It was different in high school when my times actually meant something!
Go buy this:
http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/
Its $29, and is the greatest motivating tool ever devised for runners. It allows you to track your distance, set goals, achieve those goals, and compete with people around the country. Then Lance Armstrong chimes in at the end of your run and says "good job." It's a ****ing amazing little gadget.
Edit: I guess i should have read Elessars post first.![]()

I hate running too. Especially on a treadmill, it just gets boring for me after 10 minutes or so because I'm not going anywhere. I think my main problem with running is that when I played football, it was our punishment. One time we had to run around the field for 30 minutes straight in full pads. After that, I pretty much said screw you running!
The attraction of 'doing cardio' on an elliptical, stepper or treadmill is about zero for me. If I had a choice between not eating, or eating and doing 'cardio' I think I'd go hungry.
But getting outside for a run is a totally different thing.
As another poster said, it could be the motivation to run well in a 5k, 10k - they are good ways to get exercise, contribute to a good cause, and meet fit women. The bigger ones have live music and decent catering. And often they'll close the streets of major cities - running around the DC monuments with 20,000 of your friends is a neat experience.
Aside from the attraction of racing, all the time running gives moments like this morning on the trail ... in perfect weather I saw a turtle, some deer and a snake. And I didn't have to share the space with anyone, wait for a machine or listen to the gym's choice of music.
