Default Is a resume always required?

I'm going to fill out applications for a new bartending position tomorrow, and I'm literally directly on the fence about whether or not to bring my resume and turn it in with my application in lieu of the "work history" section or wait until the actual interview. But I also feel that it's like wearing a suit to apply for a fast food cashier position.

I know that it cannot hurt my chances, and I will come off as well prepared...

Also, should I do a chronological or relevance type resume?

RIP Blake Fomby... You will be missed... Love you brother. Hope they keep the roof open at Cowboys Stadium so you can still watch them from up there...

Always overprepare. In a lot of casual office environments, people will still wear a suit on their first day of work before switching over to a button down and khakis with no tie for the rest of their time there. Always do the first impression thing.

    Don't bring it.

If they can't take you at your word that you are as good as you say you are then **** 'em. They can take that job and shove it.

Next question... My apparel is black slacks, a blue button up shirt (my ex says I should always wear blue because of my eyes), dress shoes (not sure if I'll wear my very worn dockers, or my actual dress shoes)....

So Dockers that I have worn to work for the past 3 years (still look presentable, just the soles are worn) or the new dress shoes I've worn once (they make my feet hurt)...

And every page I've ever read on bartending is "go into the interview expecting to work that night and prove your worth" therefore my non-slip shoes will be in the car along with a pair of Khaki's, and I am debating actually telling them "If you need me to prove my skills, I am available to work tonight"

A lot of times, I go in with a resume because I hate filling out applications.

I will also dress in my work clothes, just to show how I look going in.

Always bring a resume, even for a lower level job. It just makes you look unprepared or lacking drive if you come w/o one in hand.

Always bring a resume. If they ask for it and you don't have it then it can turn into a "wanna get away" moment. Play it safe and take one just in case.
