I like it when the words "Karl Rove" and "meltdown" are used next to each other and hope to see its use often in the future.

“I just wanted to say to the fans … in D.C. and across the nation, they’ve been great for us, cheering us on. At away games they show up in the masses and at home they really made it feel like a home-field advantage. We said this when I was in college, ‘We got a chance to sit at the dinner table and experience success and it was a good meal. But now we want to go back to get dessert.’ We’ll be ready to get dessert next year.”
Robert Griffin’s last words at the press conference.
“Math you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better” is a much better slogan for Fox than the one they have now.
This killed me.

Just watched last night's...Jon's right. Yesterday I was treated to 3 solid hours of Fox News and the theme was very repetitive on all the things Jon said about BSM.
Basically, the "problem" (Romney's loss) is with moral and ethical failings of the "new majority" of less than ideal Americans, the rise of minorities (so they even hear what they sound like on that one?) and of course "the media."
The literally insane level of self-blindness, deliberate or not, of this dialog is mesmerizing and the fact it sells to tens of millions, depressing.
I think no better, overall, of MSNBC or its devotees, but they seem (both by actual national statistical measure and by my personal experience) so much smaller in impact. I wrote more about the media for this post, but am editing it to place another thread where it's more appropriate. I'll leave the MSNBC remark in here though, for certain readers, to help minimize any unintended spasming.![]()
"Captain, it's a viewpoint--not one of ours! We're under attack!"
"I see it, ensign! Engage amygdala! Transfer all power from frontal lobes!
Suspend critical thinking field! Go to course heading of reflexive response 101 at full bias!
Now!'Enter' at will!"
"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."
I wonder what they would say of this data against their claim that 50% of the electorate just want handouts.
Here's the top ten counties in the country by family income using 2011 data:
1 Loudoun County Virginia $119,134
2 Fairfax County Virginia $105,797
3 Arlington County Virginia $100,735
4 Hunterdon County New Jersey $99,099
5 Howard County Maryland $98,953
6 Somerset County New Jersey $96,360
7 Prince William County Virginia $95,146
8 Fauquier County Virginia $93,762
9 Douglas County Colorado $93,573
10 Montgomery County Maryland $92,909
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 voted for Obama, some by very significant margin.
4, 8 & 9 voted for Romney.
With 70% of affluent, middle-class suburbia voting for Obama (or against the GoP ticket if you prefer) the handout and victim claim is a bit of a stretch.![]()
So many great lines from that episode. "The real problem here wasn't the voters' inexplicable decision to be less white..."![]()
I dont know why the Obama campaign didnt use how Romney was attacked during the primaries.
Newest one.![]()

Liked this one a lot.
Just for kicks, I tuned into Fox News last night and it was Hannity's program and Karl Rove was on. I can't tell if Karl Rove is a delusional fool or he is a manipulative genius. KR was running his mouth about how Obama's campaign team's strategy was, get this, voter suppression—their negative attack ads made the Republican electorate stay home. Mind boggling. When Clinton spoke at the convention I thought he was just using a nice dig, but KR definitely lives in some alternative universe.
Liked his segment on the sex scandal, too.Originally Posted by Jon Stewart

I have to wonder about the directions in which Rove is being pushed as the effects, or perhaps lack thereof, of the Super PACs are being evaluated. It seems to me that the general consensus is that the SPACs were a driving force behind pushing the sheer number of political ads to an infuriating level during this cycle, but they ultimately didn't really have that much of an impact. I've heard that Rove has been trying to cool off more than a few megabuck donors who feel like they didn't get much bang for their buck, and I would expect that the same is true for some of the SPAC figureheads on the left as well.
Saw a TV with Fox on today (sound was turned down) and their wording block at the bottom claimed the Dow had fallen 20 percent since the election. Yes, the market has sucked since the election and has fallen nearly 10 percent, but 20? How hard is basic math, folks?
Just observing that this is the Daily Show thread.
