That was awesome. It may be my favorite DS ever.
I believe my job as a parent is to give my kids all the blocks they need to build a life in which they can attempt to reach everything they strive for and see anything they can imagine. In a world where everybody finds it easier to destroy than build, I wish for my kids to experience the joy of seeing something for the first time and the love of creating something new.

Last night's episode has to be the best one I've seen.

Jon Stewart's reaction to: "We all wanted President Obama to succeed" was one of the greatest reactions to a statement I've ever seen!

No from the Daily Show...well, maybe they did it last night. But still....
Fox News To Issue Correction For Misleading 'Fox & Friends' Graphic On Unemployment

Fox News will air a correction for a misleading graphic that appeared on Tuesday's "Fox & Friends," Mediaite reported.

The program ran into some mathematical difficulty when it threw up a graphic about changes in the unemployment rate during President Obama's tenure.

Liberal watchdog Media Matters noticed a discrepancy in the figures:

The show's mistake was to compare the official unemployment figure in 2009 with the so-called "real" unemployment figure in 2012. That figure takes into account data which is not included in the official number, such as people who have stopped looking for work. Thus, it is always higher than the official figure. (Official unemployment is actually .3 percentage points higher than in 2009, while "real" unemployment is .7 percentage points lower.

Color me skeptyical on this "people who have stopped looking" figure.
How the hell do you prove that?
Where's the +/- for people who didn't answer the poll? According to Herman Cain, they all have jobs.

Unemployment rate for government workers? Shouldn't that by definition be 0%?

From a poll on Fox's website....
Should President Obama speak up on the Chicago teachers strike?

( )Rahm’s got this. Everybody cool it
( )Yes, he has the power to bring both sides to a resolution
( )Probably, but he won’t because he doesn’t want to cross the unions
( )Nothing he can say would make a difference

sure..that seems like a fair and balanced poll....

Bang, they can get those numbers ("not looking") from current population stats compiled by the Census Bureau.

Sorry, I can't do selected clips of it, but you guys have to watch last night's show. Right now I'm dying over the typical "Republican two-face" dance they specialize in, this time featuring Palin & Hannity and regarding the situation in Libya.

That wasn't a mistake. Not for one second was that a mistake.

This is the classic move from the Right, take one set of numbers and then compare them to another set figured using different math and then think you've proven something. I had a friend do this with sincerity and I told him that he was being dishonest, he took offense! Seriously, he got mad because I called him out because he was perpetuating a lie.
As for Faux News, they know that people believe what they see first and that a retraction more often than not solidifies the belief in the previous report, as such they can keep using these manipulated numbers and their viewers will believe them.

Agreed, heck it's been done here countless times.

Last night---"At Romney campaign HQ..." (and then it shows the Fox News logo)

And then he intros a segment where he's referring to the already floundering Romney reboot and Fox's reaction to it as "Chaos On Bull**** Mountain" with cool audio and graphic effects behind it.

I have been saying for quite awhile now---how (and in what forms) will the the concept of the "worst president in history", this absolute cluster**** of a USA-destroying presidency (according to "them") winning (if O does) over their very best efforts and candidate, be internalized and then outwardly expressed?

I'm thinking of an analogy where you tell all of your friends how the most awesome amazing girl in school that everyone wants, and dreams about taking to the prom, is thinking of going with the biggest loser!

But you, as the self-proclaimed BMOC (cosigned by your buddies) are going to nip that in the bud. And so you endlessly rap on about just how much a loser this dude is, and how awesome you are, to everyone in school, and to her. And then she still picks the other guy over you.

I thought last night's DS was great. The part where Fox is saying the Romney video shouldn't be showed because it was recorded way back in May, yet they go and dig up something Obama said in 1998 lol
