    Default Question About Software

I figured some of you more IT savvy folks might be able to help me out so here goes...

I will be saving tons (TBs) of different files, PDF, Video, Audio, MS Office docs, etc to a SAN.

My question is, what kind of software do I need to allow me to search the SAN later for a specific document/file? Is there software that will allow me to add tags to files for easier searching later? I'm hoping there is already some cheap COTS software available so I don't have to build a DB and custom front end.

Anyone have experience with anything like this?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Any reason you're going SAN instead of NAS?

Sorry, it is NAS, about 6 TB. I've been saying SAN for so many years it's hard to break the habbit.

Thanks! I'll check them out. Though at first glance they look to be just turn the NAS into a file server. I'm looking for something more along the lines of content management, like Sharepoint without all the MS crap. ;-)
