I had the same deal dude back in the day. Had to get drunk or high to pick up chicks. I'm shy as hell. But then I realized, there is nothing wrong with being shy. I'm an introvert. That's who I am. So...

#1, stop feeling bad about yourself.

#2 You just have to say **** it and go for it. Tell yourself, "what do I have to lose?" I mean you hit on a girl, she says no, you're just back where you started. It can't get worse. And that's how you learn. And that's how you get more comfortable.

#3 As far as The Professional is concerned: You won't go to jail. Worst case scenario, they write you a citation you show up to court later and pay you're little fine. Craigslist is definitely the way to go. Just play it safe. Don't get into any detailed discussions about a transaction. Just put the cash (you'll know how much from their ad) on the table and lay back. If you're really scared, grab her boob. If it's a cop, she'll stop you and that will be the end of it. No trouble.

As far as getting robbed goes, you can tell which people are trouble and which aren't. It's not that hard. If you want me to give it a look and let you know I will. To be really safe drop a little extra cash to meet an upscale girl. If you're going to a nice hotel you're good. If you're going to Motel 8, I'd be weary. Also, a lot of girls make people jump through hoops so they know they're not cops. Jump through the hoops if you're worried. Cops aren't going to go through all that to write someone a ticket. And someone that professional isn't going to rob you because they want your business again.

(For the record, never have I nor would I sleep with a hooker. That's just me. I personally see nothing wrong with it (unless it's a child being exploited or something like that) it just isn't my thing. I've been around so I know the deal, from both sides of the coin, so I don't judge.)
