I thought you said Green Bay...my mistake.
J/K
I like Green Day. Holiday is my favorite song. I also like Wake me up when September Ends and Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
so they evolved from a punk band and made money, whats the big deal, have yet to listen to uno, but the 2 albums before that, 21st century and idiot, are amazing, you can listen to it first to last countless times, and since its a rock opera it just sucks you right in
Bull****. Nobody accused Joey Ramone of singing anything.....ever.....
Screaming? Maybe. But not singing.

The big deal is I think their music sucks and is responsible for the plenitude of fake punk (or poppunk) banks over the last 2 decades.
Without Green Day, we'd have no Blink 182 and the like.

green day wasn't responsible for pop-punk's explosion, they were a symptom of it. before green day released dookie, tons of pop-punk bands were beginning to crest in popularity. labels like Epitaph, Fat Wreck Chords, SST, and Lookout were all about ready to pop BEFORE green day's "longview" video. here in DC, Fugazi (and other Dischord bands) were enjoying incredible levels of attention. (Fugazi isn't pop-punk, but it's endemic of how the scene was exploding at the time). Madonna was trying to recruit Rancid to her label for crying out loud.

I like Blink 182 also, so what the hell do I know. Your 5 year old has more punk cred than I do.
Flying Vince Lombardi x x x x x x x x x x x Ryan Kerrigan... Funky-style

greenspandan is spot on.
Green Day began with humble roots and gained popularity and molded their success. I can't say I'm a big fan, but I have always enjoyed Dookie, Kerplunk, and a few other of their albums. I try not to get sucked into the whole "this is punk/this isnt punk argument…"it makes me feel like I'm in highschool.
But I'm a Ramones fan too so who knows what I know
