Is anyone on 500px? I just joined and I'm loving it. Seems like a good place to share pics, kinda like instagram but for regular pictures. Damn PCS every time you post, It seems you are getting better and better. LOVE those fall shots!

I was out at the wings and waves airshow last week. Gave myself a good case of sun poisoning by wearing shorts for the fist time in years and exposing my pasty white legs to extreme sunburn. But I got some good shots and I'm using a new (to me) photo website service (zenfolio) that allows anyone to sell prints and other products using their photos.

BTW... the tele shots were all taken with my new D5100. It's a pretty cheep camera body with 16mp and 1080p video. Some things like auto focus speed are down from my D90 but other like resolution and low light capabilities are up. and it sure is nice to be able to shoot a wide angle lens and a tele at the same time. :-)

Took this last night at about 3:30am on a bridge that crosses from Brooklyn into Queens. You can see how half of Manhattan is totally out of power while midtown and up still has power.

This isn't a photo obviously but I didn't want to make a thread in the stadium and this just seemed like a somewhat logical spot to put it. I just found it and thought some people might enjoy it. I know the guys on 980 would enjoy it as much as they make fun of Zorn for this play call.

PCS, the nature stuff is killer as always. I know I've asked before, but are those HDR?

Mad Mike, the flying stunts are cool as hell, too. How much space was between those two jets?

Thanks M.M.. Like those pics you took too. Sik,believe it or not,I'm trying to expand in to urban landscapes as well. As always Spiff,nice pics,(and not just because of the models. ). In that last group,the only one that is HDR,I believe,is the last one and that's a fusion one,(trying to bring out the shadows a bit). I'll actually run a lot of my pics through the HDR program just to see how they look,but many times I just like to edit them with Aperture 3. This one is an HDR.

Until I can get either both an ND 0.9 and ND 1.2 graduated,or another graduated ND 0.6,(can stack that one on top of the one I have,but have to be cautious when stacking filters),I'll probably rely upon the HDR somewhat more shots with lighting like these.

Can any of u determine what effects were used or what adjustments were made to a photo just by looking at it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Wow PCS, that first HDR one you just posted looks really good. I dabble in HDR but I like the clean look of it where you almost can't tell it's HDR, sort of like how yours go.

Spaceman, I really enjoy the effects you put on those photos. They look just like film, unless I'm mistaken and they really are film?

The top two are film, the rest I use effect from Visual Supply Co. http://visualsupply.co/ They're expensive but me and a friend split the cost. They've been a blast to use.

Spaceman... more great photos as usual. LOVE those concert shots. Just curious... Do you use photoshop? And if so, how does that "film" effect compare to adding just a touch of gaussian noise? Oh, and you were asking about the separation between those jets... I think the real separation is horizontal with the tail (center) of the top plane over the end of the wing rather than stacked directly over the bottom jet.
