Well hello thread. You all are awesome. This thread,(full of very talented photographers),and Pixoto,(same),are true inspirations for me. Motivates me to always study, practice, and improve as well as expand my photographic horizons.

These are what I call just having fun, minimally processed,(no color manipulation except the black and white),shots. Subtle sharpening and maybe a little work on contrast and/or exposure).
Just playing with different exposures to set different moods, using different filters,(on the lens),and a few different settings on the camera. Basically trying to get as much in the pic done before it hits the sensor.
Edit: Good to see the old glitch "post and close thread" without actually doing so is still working.![]()

My girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to the Keys this past weekend, and stopped to hike around inside Everglades National Park on the way back to Miami.
This is a feeding frenzy between nurse sharks and tarpon, just off of the docks near a restaurant we stopped in to grab lunch before leaving the Keys.
Everglades National Park is unique in that it's the only National Park in the country that allows anyone to travel anywhere they want within the Park. There are no boundaries for a hiker, hunter, or camper to keep inside of - it's not uncommon to see cars parked along the side of the road where someone just pulled over, got out, and started traveling out into the forest or swamp.
My girlfriend and I are not quite that adventurous however, so we stuck to one of the trails near the swamp portion of the Park.
This is a Great Blue Heron near one of the trails:
Here's a Great White Heron:
An Alligator that went cruising underneath the walk way we were on:
This guy was hanging out between some bushes:
Alligator hanging out by the bank of a pond:
This was just a pile of Alligators at the end of a walk way - I counted at least 50 of them in this group, not all are in frame in this photo though:
I had to pull my girlfriend back at the last second before she almost stepped on this juvenile Cottonmouth which was traveling across the path, trying to get to the water:
And finally, here's a shot of sunset on the beach from our hotel in the Keys:
And this photo gives a better idea of what kind of view you have while walking around the trails in the Everglades (with both an Alligator and another Blue Heron in view):

Looking at the shots of that wildlife I think I would have stayed in the car.
Here are a couple more from me. First a couple car shots.

Here are a few candid shots from the Goodwood Revival. If you have never heard of it, the Revival is a vintage racing event in England. It celebrates motorsports and everything else from the 40's through the mid 60's. They encourage the spectators to participate and dress in period clothes. At least half, maybe more, dress up. It is quite a spectacle.
