What if we get Cutler and it leads to Mike Shanahan in ???

You guys are overthinking this. why make Shan Coach? WHy not bring him in as a Team President/consultant? Then if Zorn does well you keep him, if he doesn't you fire him, and I believe the rules do allow you to hire in house. The Rooney rule only applies if you hire from outside the franchise (look at seattle with MOra)

could you imagine denver's offense with our defense? portis running in shannahan's system again? you think scheffler is good in their system just wait until you see cooley in shannahan's version of the wco.

if something is going on behind the scenes with shanahan, then we can pretty much pencil cutler in now. Zorn may already be up a creek. Man does dan snyder know how to mess up a once proud franchise.

Its about Danny doing anything he can to make the Redskins a sucessful football team. You can argue back and forth as to if he has spent money/draft picks wisely but its hard to argue his willingness and ability to do whatever he needs to do to get a player or coach he thinks will make us better. I'd rather have that than some owners who sit in their wallets and refuse to invest in their product.

Of course having a succesful team makes his investment in the Redskins even more valuable so its not like he is doing this just because he is a fan or for kicks.

What you say is true but in reality that scenario would put Zorn in an impossible position.

We just (hypothetically) traded for a QB who was handpicked by Shanhan and has a close relationship with him from their time in Denver. Then you go hire said QBs mentor and former HC and install him over Zorns head as defacto GM.

Talk about putting the writing on the wall for Zorn in letters several hundred feet high! Anything less than say an NFC Championship game and he would be toast. The whole thing could implode in those circumstances.

For the record I think this speculation re Shanhan being lined up is just that - speculation.

If Zorn flops this year - i.e misses the playoffs - then its all in play next year and we wil lspend weeks with threads about Cowher and Shanhan rather than Campbell or Cutler. Oh yeah and the annual ritual of draft previews on offensive lineman and DE's who we will never draft.

I personally don't view bringing in Cutler and Shanahan to be a bad thing at all. I think both are examples of Dan taking two bold steps to restore the franchise and not diminish it further.

Sounds like when we got rid of Stephen Davis because he didn't fit Spurrier's offense, then we go out and hire Gibbs. I believe Davis would've fit in nicely with Gibbs.

I do believe that women can do anything they want. I hope before I die that I see a woman NFL head coach. Maybe I'm wrong, don't know but I hope one can break the barrier
