You guys are overthinking this. why make Shan Coach? WHy not bring him in as a Team President/consultant? Then if Zorn does well you keep him, if he doesn't you fire him, and I believe the rules do allow you to hire in house. The Rooney rule only applies if you hire from outside the franchise (look at seattle with MOra)

Good point, we could do that now if we got Jay Cutler. I've wanted a Veteran expirenced guy on the staff ever since Dallas dorked up the deal with Dan Reeves. To me having someone with power in the box sitting next to Dan and Vinny is a winning combination

Super Bowl winning head coaches have never, ever won another one on the subsequent teams they are on. Holmgren came close in Seattle, but at the end of the day, they lost.

Your right, no one guy has won it with two different teams. However 5 coaches have lead two seperate teams to the Superbowl

I am pretty sure that Shanahan was in the mix last year when Zorn's job was in jeoperdy. I was talking to a guy at the skins eagle's game last year and he told me that if the skins had lost that game that they would have pursued Shanahan.

If the Skins get Cutler, Zorn has got to know he's the next whipping boy. Cutler has already been designated the saviour. So if and when the offense flounders, its got to be Zorn. If Zorn doesn't know this, he better now.
