Wow, I'm surprised and kind of freaked out by how many people in here have had a vasectomy.
I think we need like a poll or something, lol.
I can't imagine going in for one myself.
I don't even like going to the doctor or the dentist.
(and usually avoid it as much as possible)
I wonder how expensive they are if you pay cash.

I think an IUD would be a much better option for many of you
Funny you bring this subject up...tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I had mine. Due to the way my boys ride, my doc suggested that I be put all the way under. I didn't argue a bit since he used the words "tug of war"!! So I was completely under and was given vicodin, and Ibuprofen for the next few days. So as far as pain goes, I really didn't feel much at all.
Now my stitches have dissolved and the scabs have come off. Almost back to normal. Not that bad of a deal overall.
Given the frequency of sex for my wife and I though, it could take years to get the rest of the little swimmers flushed out.
Boo Iggles!!!!!......
3 years later bump! (I couldn't find any more threads on this).
We've got a 4 and 7 year old, and my wife is done (and I'm done). We've been using the "c-word" things for the past 3 years... but a few times have had the "oh, I'm late!" scare... fun times.
Seen things like the "no needle vasectomy".
ought to be dirt cheap there, but you could save even more with the fishing line trick

How should society view a cure for a ailment of limited duration that takes another's life to 'cure'?

OK, since this is absolutely an appropriate place for a plug,, pardon the pun... on my podcast
The Bang Cartoon Radio Hour
In episode 213 my partner on the show Tom.. gets his vasectomy live on the radio
http://www.bangcartoon.com/podcasts/...angcast213.mp3
Tom works in Columbus Ohio on the morning show on 99.7 the Blitz.. he's the producer.. anyway, he got one done LIVE, and we have the audio, and it is a lot of fun.
BUT.. he has it done with no needles, just a spray, and says it's completely painless. He is on the air as the doc is doing it from start to finish.
he said they offer a valium if you're nervous, and then you'd ned a ride home, but if you don't take the v, you can drive home in an hour.
give it a listen,, it's in the second half of the show.

Congratuations, you are all a bunch of numbnuts.
yeah I did it too

Until they get embedded in a woman's uterus, then imagine pain and probably major surgery to get it removed, plus the risk of infection and so on. Yeah, an IUD is just the ticket./sarcasm off.
Been there and done that. I opted for tubal ligation because I wasn't with any guy at the time. If I had been legally married, I would have had to get his "permission."
