    Default Computer Question

I have a laptop that just had the backlight in the screen go out, so now I have a black screen whenever I turn on my computer. If I were to get a cable to hook my laptop to my tv, would I be able to see my computer through my tv? And what would I need to make that happen? An s-video cord? It's a Dell that is about 5 years old.

what type of tv do you have? s-video will be too grainy for text. your notebook should have vga out and that would be the way to connect it if your tv does have that input. it could be called pc input or d-sub on the tv.

hit up monoprice.com for you discount cables.

Your Samsung flat screen should have a VGA input. It will be called PC and is a blue input on the back. Your screen will show up on the TV then.

you should have a hotkey on the notebook to output only to the hdtv. find out the native resolution of your tv and output that from the notebook.

    its really very simple.

its a vga cable. its also called a d-sub cable.

DO NOT buy from bestbuy or radioshack or any other stores.

buy online for like 90% cheaper. Also get one with a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can also have audio from the notebook to your TV. its very nifty.

    here you go

should be less then $10 shipped. monoprice is a reputable company and they sell quality cables.

Haha, the Caps I'll have to watch on the computer, but I'll find a way to still get tickets to the LSU football games this fall.
