Default FoxSports : Don't go to sleep on Monsters of Midway(Redskins Mentioned).

This article is a day old, but did a search, and didn't find it.
Don't pass out, but it's a Fox Sports article that actually spoke well of the Redskins, that we're gonna be serious contendahs !!

Don't go to sleep on the Monsters of the Midway
    by Peter Schrager

Washington Redskins: The 'Skins added the best defensive tackle in the game and a rookie who could be scary good right away in Brian Orakpo. Still, I have some questions on the mental/emotional state of a quarterback whose team all but openly courted two other signal callers over the offseason. It's tough to focus on having a good time at the prom when you know you weren't your date's first ... or second choice.

I don't see how the Patriots could be frighteningly better than ever ?

Who did they add, that makes them better ?

    Just Shawn Springs ?

And didn't they lose some key players/coaches ?

And are they actually expecting Brady to be a better QB after his awful injury ?

The patriots are going to be scary again..They also added Joey Galloway and Fred Taylor..Their offense is going to be sick..Their defense isnt great but with an offense like that it doesn't really matter..Look for them to put up huge offensive numbers like they did in 07-08..But they're going to lose to the Redskins in the SB this time!

May be true, but with Tom Brady at QB, he can make them look young again..Plus Galloway is their 3rd WR..Moss, Welker, and Galloway..Thats a good group of WR's right there.

I agree Mickalino that the Patriots have focused on has been players from other teams for years. But, as long as Brady is quaterbacking that team, these players are somewhat effective.

    1) if anyone, the patriots deserve credit for being very good at managing and evaluating talent, as well as utilizing the talent they have. I would say the steelers come in a close second in this category. Its a bad thing any time you release a player, and one of these two organizations pick them up; Likewise its a bad thing when they release a player, and you pick him up...

    2) Taylor came off what should have been a pro-bowl season.

so... yeah... i respectfully disagree with you.

They also just picked up Burgess from the Raiders too...If that dude can stay healthy then he is good for at least 8 sacks, at least.

I love/hate/jealous how the Pats pull of these kinds of deals....

The difference between the SKins and Pats is more "Coaching/Management Staff" than talent they have on the field....

That means anything from game planning, play calling, teaching, scouting system players, GM, Owner...

Not to mention another year in the same system...What is this like year 7 in the same system?

Thanks, PCS, for cleaning up the thread for me.

I'll do it correctly next time.

I agree about the bears being a sleeper team. I also liked the vikings until they picked up Brett Farve. I thought Percy Harvin, Phil Loadholt and Sage Rosenfels(sp) was enough to get them to the playoffs.

The Pats remind me of the Redskins under Jack Kent Cooke. They were always competitive each and every year and managed to win a few Super Bowls.
    How times have changed......

I'd take the pats over any other team right now.
