Thread: The Orioles.

  1. #1

    Default The Orioles.

Was this team supposed to finish 35 games under 500 this year? Seriously, when is someone (Trembley) finally gonna be held accountable for this. IMO, they have enough talent to be much more competitive than this. What they've lost now, like 9 or 10 in a row?

EVERY YEAR this team goes into the tank after the all star break and that starts with the manager. I see other bad teams atleast competing, why not the O's? I've been an O's fan back when they wore the orange jerseys, if they bring Trembley back I MIGHT be done.

10th straight. Nothing to play for. Season's essentially over

Next year is supposed to be the year though. I am startled that Tillman has a record under .500. My word doesn't mean much though, the expert Doyler probably has more information on this.

It's vexing though, because with all the young talent we were supposed to be the Rays junior. When is our Rays moment?

    Markakis is scuffling.
    Jones is out.
    Reimold is out.
    Bergesen is out.
    Matsuz is out.
    Uehara is out.
Huff was traded. (not that he was hitting)
Shep was traded for a guy who will be starting at 3b by July next year.
Pie stepped up his game, then got hurt.
Mickolio was pitching well, then got hurt.

At least Wieters is playing well.

Why is Tillman under .500, he's supposed to be the talent

I mean the O's got a solid YOUNG rotation with Bergesen, Tillman, Matusz, Arietta...if that rotation doesn't pan out next year I will be IRATE

    And Guthrie sucks

    Futuristic Rotation

    Bergesen
    Uehara
    Tillman
    Matusz
    Arietta

Tillman is learning how to pitch at the next level.

Uehara prob won't be in the rotation next year.

Trembely needs to go. I don't think anyone expected us to contend this year, but we were down right putrid. We always go through our crappy 2nd half of just completly falling apart. That's on the manager. We have a good young core of players, we just need the right manager to come in and get everyone playing to their potential. Trembley is not the answer.

The Last 10 column in the standings is pegged at L-10.

Man nobody folds at the end of the season like the Orioles.
“I just wanted to say to the fans … in D.C. and across the nation, they’ve been great for us, cheering us on. At away games they show up in the masses and at home they really made it feel like a home-field advantage. We said this when I was in college, ‘We got a chance to sit at the dinner table and experience success and it was a good meal. But now we want to go back to get dessert.’ We’ll be ready to get dessert next year.”

Robert Griffin’s last words at the press conference.

You can bring in the best manager in the history of sports and he won't win in Baltimore. Not with that rotation, not without a salary cap. Sure there will be anomlies like the 2008 Rays, but most of the time the teams that spend 3-4 times as much as the Orioles is going to win. And they do.

IMO, this is a MLB problem. Not to say Baltimore is a well run franchise, but the deck is certainly stacked against them.
