    click for the rest

Kelly has studied hard during voluntary team workouts, and said he's ready to show what he has learned while working the last few weeks under Kyle Shanahan, Washington's offensive coordinator, and wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell.

"I'm real excited," Kelly said in a phone interview Thursday afternoon. "Everybody knows that we're kind of learning on the fly, but they're going to expect you to know at least Day 1 materials.

"It's a lot of studying going on, but it's good. Again, I'm excited. I'm going to line up in so many different positions, and be put in so many different situations, just over this one weekend."

The West Coast offense the Shanahans are installing "makes you become more of a complete receiver. Just in everything we're going to do in this offense, the way it puts pressure on the defense and takes advantage of matchups, it's going to be a whole lot different."

I remember wanting Malcolm Kelly so badly in that 2007 draft. After we selected Thomas, which I wasn't upset with since I didn't expect him to be available, I thought "well there goes Malcolm." We obviously haven't gotten to production out of him that I expected but I still think he can be a good reciever in this league. He's the type of guy that can get vertical and snatch the ball out of the air with his hands. As a long strider I think he has a future as a deep threat on this team despite not having great top end speed.

Indeed. With a genius like Kyle pulling the strings we should be able to do some pretty good things. McNabb has also showed that he is more than able to put up huge numbers without superstars

I think with the current recievers and tight ends we have its one of the best cores McNabb will have worked with in his career. We have one pro bowl caliber tight end and another TE that looks to be just as good if not better. I think Kelly or Thomas are going to break out this year, it would be amazing if both broke out but I am not jumping the gun yet.

I also think Moss has another few good years left and I think him and McNabb will connect deep alot this year. I cant wait for this freaking season to start!!!!

I really hope Devin and Comb get more targets than Tana. I think he needs to start being phased into that slot role.

hate to say it...but if you copied and pasted a quote from 2008 or 2009 offseason put it in the OP and took out the coaches' names, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I have high hopes for MK but "i gotta remain medium".

I keep forgetting about Mitchell. With McNabb here I think he will start getting some playing time this year.

McNabb is the type of Qb that no matter who is open he will throw the ball. Campbell over the few years would tend to lock on certain targets and not trust other guys. I think with an experienced Qb like McNabb he is going to make all our recievers better.

The correlatoin is that a great Qb will make recievers better. Thus I believe the way Mitchell played in pre-season shows he has some talent and with McNabb here we might see more of that talent on display. McNabb made guys like Freddie Mitchell and Pinkston look like great recievers and I know for a fact Mitchell has been out of the league for years, not sure about Pinkson. McNabb has played with #2 talented recievers most of his career and made those guys look great. Thats what I mean.

i understand what your saying, but as of right now, Mitchell is the fourth reciever, and the fourth recievers on teasm dont exactly get too many balls thrown their way regardless of who the qb is. ALso im not so sure the redskins wont sign another veteran reciever for camp. So while i agree McNabb is a better qb, it doesn't necissarily equate to Mitchell getting more snaps, and thus getting more opportunities to make plays

I can't wait to hear the feedback from this weekends minicamp! This will give MS/KS a sense of what we have on O and what we need to get or get rid of.

Fred-ex actually caught that hail mary at the end of the game Favre threw as a Viking last season. But yeah, the receivers will benefit with Donovan throwing.

Which game are you talking about. I know former Eagle Greg Lewis caught that pass in the 49ers game.
