Default M.Caller.Com: Director Quits "Hobbit" Films

Wonder who will take his place? I'd prefer Peter Jackson just direct them, but I think he is going to look for someone else.

The Hobbit was my favorite movie growing up (cartoon)

I'd be pissed if this didn't become a cinema movie.

That sucks... I was looking forward to Del Toro's take. Pan's Labyrinth had some great visuals and awesome character designs.

It sounds like they should be keeping the designs Del Toro had input in, as he said they're already done.

I'm looking forward to this. I hope it doesn't get delayed too long. I just got done reading The Hobbit for the first time. I wanted to get it read before I saw the movie. I didn't do that for LOTR.

Del Toro would continue to co-write the screenplays with Jackson and his wife, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens.
Looks like he just can't spend all his time waiting for something to happen, but he's still a part of the project.
