Sorry to go off topic, but Jordan elevated the NBA to where they'd never been and haven't been since. Bird, Magic, the Celtics and Lakers were the ones to save the NBA. The NBA wasn't even on TV much until 1980 along with empty seats in the stands. So I don't think Jordan saved the NBA, he just elevated them to astronomical heights.

Personally I think he will break Jacks major record, how could you not? He is only 37 and he has a lot of solid golf in his future.
Again, if you read through the entire thread you'll see what I meant by "done". I never said he wouldn't win tournaments again. I said he wouldn't ever regain the dominance he once had. Said that he wouldn't win majors. Wouldn't catch Jack.

He's not breaking Jack's record. You can forget that. One other thing: Of the 75 wins Tiger has achieved, 22 of them have come on the same three courses. In other words, nearly one- third of his career wins are on the same three golf courses. And the wins he's gotten lately have also came on courses he's always dominated. He won't be considered "back" unless he starts winning majors, and starts winning on different courses.

Yeah, he's only 37, but it's gets harder and harder to win majors the older you get.

    Geez. You are flip-flopping.

Done is done, finished, over, expired, no good, etc.

Just admit that you overstated your point and we can all move on from laughing at you about this one. It's silly.

Tiger is still relevant. If he was washed up and done...that would not be the case.
I laugh at how you continue to defend your initial point that he was done. (might have been within the first 10 responses to this thread).
I'm not in denial. And I'm not flip-flopping. You obviously haven't read the entire thread.

And I'm not surprised, you of all people. took exception to the comment about most Tiger fans being bandwagoners. I mean, when the Lakers were good, you always posted in the NBA thread. But you've been a no-show there this year. Funny how that works...

I normally hate random stats like this...But every time Tiger has won Torrey Pines in his career, he's won a major the same year.

What's he got, 4 more to tie Jack?

RIP Blake Fomby... You will be missed... Love you brother. Hope they keep the roof open at Cowboys Stadium so you can still watch them from up there...

Maybe he should look into moving there and avoiding 6% or so on state income tax.

Of course..they'll get you in other ways.

Why do you hate Tiger so much? Are you content with no-namers no one has heard of winning majors once, and then disappearing? Who is Trevor Immelman? Who is Y.E. Yang? No one knows who they are. They only know Tiger, Phil, Rory, and if you're lucky, a few more American golfers.

I appreciate what we have now with Tiger. Because when he goes, there's going to be too much parity in Golf. At one point, during Tiger's struggles, 9 different players won 9 different majors.

I have always advocated parity, and I harp on the NBA extensively for the same 2 or 3 teams winning the title every year. But there is such a thing as too much parity. My concern is, when Tiger goes, the ratings suffer, and the game suffers, because we'll be back to having random players win the majors. And to me, that is bad. Especially when these people win one major, and then disappear off the face of the earth.

But I think it's bad that the ONLY reason people watch golf is because of Tiger. If they were truly fans of the game, then one person wouldn't matter. He IS the only reason alot of people watch golf. It's like people at this time of year that only watch the SB for the commercials and halftime show. I'm not saying Tiger can't be involved as one of the people who are fighting for a tournament win on the 18th green, but I'd rather not see him EVERY time, either winning or being in contention. A more apt sport to compare I guess because it's a solo effort is NASCAR. First, Jeff Gordon winning all the time turned me away from the sport. Then, when he faded and others started winning (Stewart, Kurt Busch, Dale Sr, etc) titles and races, I started watching again. Now, Jimmie Johnson is winning everything so I've just tuned out, although he hasn't won the title the last 2 years, but he's still the only competition.

haha. Are you serious ? I thought you trying to call fandom out was weak...and it is.

I have been a Lakers fan since the 70's. Wrap your head around that for a second. What about the Lakers would you like to discuss ? I have missed one game this season. The NBA thread is here and there, no consistency. But if you missed me there I will make an effort to post about all of the teams that I watch in the Association. Funny that you bring that up since...you don't even have a favorite team...haha.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

You may have been a Lakers fan since the 70s, but there's no doubt in my mind that the reason you started liking them in the first place, was because they won all the time. And that's exactly why Tiger fans started rooting for him, when he first came on the scene.

I'll give you credit for remaining with them all this time, though. However, you haven't posted much at all (if any) this year in the NBA thread. And you used to post there all the time when the Lakers were a top team. That's fairweather, bro. But it's not just you. I've noticed that very few Laker fans post there this year. Thread used to be littered with Laker fans. And Tiger fans disappeared just the same, when he hit his rough stretch a few years ago.

I just can't stand that sort of 'fan'. If you like a team/golfer, then don't stop watching or whatever when they aren't good, then reappear when that team/player is on top. A lot of our fans on this very site give Eagles fans crap for doing the very same thing.
