Yeah I'd like to hear him explain how he is a Braves fan too. He will probably say that he was a Dale Murphy fan growing up.

Dunno, some people here might be fans of other teams in different sports, whatever...but if you've been a Redskins fan this whole time, you're not much of a fairweather fan.

Nope. I think you're getting that from ix, because he started calling me a Duke fan because I told him his hatred of Duke was irrational (or something along those lines).

I've actually explained many times how I became a Braves fan. It doesn't appear you post very often, so maybe you haven't heard. So here goes:

I've lived in North Carolina my entire life. The Braves are the closest MLB team to me. They used to be on TBS every night, as I was growing up. I used to make trips to Fulton County Stadium in my youth to watch a team that, at that time, was routinely among the worst in baseball. It wasn't uncommon for the Braves to draw 5,000 then. Sorry, if you were under the assumption that I jumped on their wagon in the early 90s.

Btw, I started to PM you earlier about the Uptons. What are your thoughts on them coming to Atlanta?

Oh yeah, and before I forget. I'm sure you're gonna next ask me how I became a Redskins fan, since I've lived in NC all my life. Well, that's been explained many times over the years also. But I'll go there again: It's simple. Growing up, the Redskins were the team shown in this market nearly every Sunday. I started watching sports long before the Panthers arrived on the scene. Never once considered dropping the Redskins, for the Panthers. Do I blame the Redskins fans here that did? Nope. But at the same time, it's completely understandable how I stuck with them. And if you don't know, there are countless numbers of Redskins fans like me in this area, to this day. If you doubt that, then I recommend taking in a Redskins-Panthers game here sometime. It's like an extra home game, those years.

For the record, yes, I was a big Murphy fan growing up. He was pretty much the ONLY positive thing about that franchise in those days. Why is that funny?

Tiger was terrible this week. And it was on one of his home courses, so to speak. He shot 70 (that was par) the first 3 days, then closed with an awful 74. And that was coming off a week where he was bounced in the first round of the match play tourney. His game just looks a bit off right now.

As most of you know, I'm not a fan of Tiger's. But at least he didn't pull that stunt Rory did. Rory was on his way to missing the cut. But instead of finishing his round, he chose to take the wimpy way out and withdraw. Which would have been fine, had he actually had a legit reason to WD. But he claimed it was because of a "toothache". Ok, lame, but accepetable. But the toothache excuse came after he had already told one reporter that he was WD-ing because "he wasn't in a good place, mentally". Weak.

    Don't care

You haters are just going to pounce on every negative story, but when he does well, "WAIT TILL IT'S A MAJOR!" "NON-MAJOR EVENTS DON'T COUNT"

Did you even read my entire post? I wasn't being a hater, or pouncing on anything. I simply said his game is a bit off. And, it is. He lost to Howell III last week in the first round of match play, when Tiger was a 1 seed and Howell III, a 16 seed (64 total players). And he was awful again this week. That's just the truth. He even said as much hisself, ix.

That in no way means I think he's going to continue playing like this, going forward. All golfers go through ruts like this. Relax.

Who cares? He missed the cut with Rory at Dubai too. It's irrelevant.

When he struggles, everyone wants to come out and criticize, but when he's doing well, everyone is quiet or dismisses it as "luck" or "it's not a real event". The memorial was a real event. Let's not jump the gun a few weeks into the season.

Like I said, relax. You're getting bent out of shape for nothing.

I didn't even bump this thread, for one. And the criticism of him right now is fair. Like I said, he's admitted he's been awful the past few weeks. He nearly won the Honda Classic last year. This year, he barely made the cut, then closed with a very poor round.

But like I said, I give him props for at least toughing it out. Rory won this same tourney last year, yet pussed out this year. He was on his way to possibly shooting an 80 on Friday and missing the cut. Tiger actually picked a good week to be awful. Because of what Rory did, that's all anyone really wants to talk about.

For the record, Tiger was T37. Also, only 4 guys shot under par Sunday, in rough conditions. 74 wasn't an awful score.

Tiger Woods was the #2 player in the world last year in earnings.... He is currently #7. Nobody win's or nearly wins every tournament... Even Tiger in his best years was winning 8 out of 18 or 19 events. Pointing to a Loss and saying he's washed up is silly... The guy is on fire, he's just not burning as bright as he was; so what he's still one of the best in the PGA...

Did you just say Tiger is on fire? Getting bounced in the match play, now this? Dude might pull another major out of his ass, but as a week end, week out threat to win every tourney, those days are gone.

Could you please point me to where I said Tiger was washed up? I said "the criticism of him right now is fair". And I was obviously referring to the last two tourneys he's played, not the entire season. However, outside of his win, he's been pretty mediocre this year. He's already missed 2 or 3 cuts, and hasn't played each week.

And as for the last part you bolded. I was talking about giving him props for "toughing it out" at the Honda Classic. In other words, instead of packing up and leaving like Rory did, he took his lumps.
