TW wins 3 tourneys in a year, no majors = washed up.

ANY OTHER PRO GOLFER wins 3 tourneys in a year, no majors = CAREER YEAR.

    Tough crowd.

Tiger's not any other golfer. It's like Michael Jordan averaging 18 pts in a season. Good numbers for most players, but MJ isn't most players.

No. That's bad for the sport. Better to have multiple guys who are good fighting it out down to the 18th green every week, then one guy blowing the field away. Would you like to watch the Patriots blow everyone out by 40 points and win 7 SBs in a row?

You guys are just like Dale Jr fans. Your guy never wins anything anymore, yet you always say "this is gonna be the year". A major? LOL. Yeah, ok. Maybe if it's another 18-man field.

So the guy hasn't won a tourney in forever, yet you think he's gonna win TWO this year? You sound like a Dale Jr fan.

See above quotes, this thread has been around for a few years now, you claim the same thing every year.

That's about like saying Michael Jordan was bad for the NBA. If a player causes others to rise to the challenge, then it is a good thing for the sport.

That was part of what I said. I wanted to see more players give him competition. I never said I wanted to see him regress. In a way, Jordan WAS bad for the NBA. It promoted "me" players from the team oriented game that you saw in the 70s and 80s. The NBA went to a 2 man game or 1 man and clear out game. Boring!. Give me the Celtics and Showtime Lakers of the 80s any day.

Well two differen't models... Michael Jordan did wonders for the NBA with the one guy constantly wins it all model... Yankee's did the same fore the MLB.... Then again to my mind, the NBA was at it's best when Bird and Majic were battling it out for a championship or when Wilt was trying to give Russel a run for his money with his super teams of the 60's..

Frankly Golf has had the competition for a long time... In golf there are a lot of players who can win on any given tournament.... I think that makes the sport harder to watch when y9our best player get's defeated half the time he competes and that's considered amaizingly great... Like Tiger in his prime..... Today's PGA there best player wins 3 times out of 18... I mean seriously... at that point who really cares... If your best most skilled player can only defeat the rabble 14-17% of the time.. Doesn't that tell you that your best player really isn't all that much better than the rable?

IMO, the best case scenario for fans and the tour is to have Tiger dominate, but only slightly over a likable foil like Phil. Arnie and Jack. .

Even if its a few guys consistently challenging him each week, viewers tune in. Jordan v Magic/Bird/Ewing

Round four of the Farmers was a joke to everyone because Tiger wasn't challenged. He even lost interest and checked out on the back.

The key is a strong Tiger and strong challengers that viewers can get behind week after week.

Wrong. The guy above was quoting things I said in 2010. He won 3 tourneys last year, in 2012. And even made a post mocking me for saying Tiger won't win another major, when in fact he HASN'T won one since that post... In fact, he hasn't won one since 2008.

Also, if you read through the thread you'll clearly see that by "done", I was talking in the context of him dominating and winning majors, as he once did. And he's still not doing that. So I fail to see the ownage here.

    You are in denial Bubble.

    Geez. You are flip-flopping.

Done is done, finished, over, expired, no good, etc.

Just admit that you overstated your point and we can all move on from laughing at you about this one. It's silly.

Tiger is still relevant. If he was washed up and done...that would not be the case.
I laugh at how you continue to defend your initial point that he was done. (might have been within the first 10 responses to this thread).

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

    EDIT: Double post.

To add on to the previous one and reference another post in this thread...

You're still just being a hater. You toss anyone who says he is not done to the side as cockroaches and fairweather fans. Clearly that is not true.

    .
Some of the quotes were from 2012.

You have been hating on Tiger for a while, clearly you underestimated the power of the best doctors, physical therapists and coaches and their ability to help the one of the greatest golfers to ever live.

Personally I think he will break Jacks major record, how could you not? He is only 37 and he has a lot of solid golf in his future.

TW's best impact on golf might be two fold:

    1) A lot of kids picked up the sport. How is that bad? Unless you play public courses solely on the weekend during open play hours and think you are better than you actually are.

    2) For the PGA players - even though they were often playing for 2nd place, tourney purses skyrocketed when TW became dominant.

As for MJ - his impact to the NBA is like Tyson's impact to Boxing - he made a dieing sport (yes, I think the NBA was fading at the time of his uprising) relevant again.
