One play before the dumbest offensive call ever made before half time, and D Halls fumble return for a TD, Mike Shanahan was the joke of Wade Phillips to his defensive coaches about his stupid decisions. Talk about eating your words, wow who's stupid now Wade

Point—The Redskins were flat out lucky to have a 10-0 lead at halftime. First, the Dallas kicker missed a 34-yard field-goal attempt. That’s about a 90 percent proposition for even mediocre NFL kickers. And then four professional football people, three of them very highly paid, had to have brain lock at the same time in order for the Cowboys to run that final play of the half. Jason Garrett should have called for a kneel down. Wade Phillips should have overruled him (there are reports—seriously—that Phillips was joking with the other defensive coaches about Mike Shanahan being “stupid” for declining a holding penalty on the previous play, a decision that Shanahan reversed before it was too late). Tony Romo should have either heaved the 'Hail Mary' that Garrett called or taken the sack. Tashard Choice should not have tried to fight his way through three defenders almost 70 yards from the goal line with time expired. In no particular order, dumb, dumber, more dumber, and dumbest.

OK, there is nothing wrong with throwing a hail mary pass from your own 36 to end the half. Nothing at all, much less acting like Garrett or Philips are completely incompetent for calling it. Romo made a terrible decision on the play, but that has nothing to do with the play call.

And declining the holding penalty would have been stupid. I was yelling it at my TV, too.

Wade and the Cowboys were outcoached on Sunday night, and it goes even beyond the play to end the first half. Why Garrett abandoned the run to suddenly try and throw the ball the Dez Bryant is beyond me, considering the Skins never did exactly stop the run.

The point is Wade has balls to call any coach who won a Super Bowl stupid! And no he should not have called a hail mary, he should have sat on the ball the way his offensive line was hurting. Nothing good was coming out of that play at all, except for us.

When they were stacking the box and playing the run they played it decently.

Not great, but decently. The long-term problem is that they really have to sell-out to stop the run, since our current rotation of guys in the front 3 isn't very stout (especially Maake at NT, guy gets pushed around a lot).

But the Redskins just kept sitting back in coverage and blitzing against the pass, and the Cowboys were able to take advantage of the Skins at times when the Skins' D was lined up to play the pass.

If he actually called another coach stupid, then that is ridiculous, if he just wondered at a stupid decision, then I can't blame him for that.

Coaches call for hail mary passes all the time. Sometimes they work. Almost never do they go back the other way for a score. Only when your Pro Bowl QB makes an idiotic decision to NOT throw the hail mary, and instead decides to see if his RB can run thru a defense for 70 yards, does it look bad.
