God help us if Nene & Okafor end up injured at the same time, which is somewhat likely given their histories.

In the East, we'll be fighting for the 8th seed with the current roster. I think they'll be in contention for the playoffs next year. I'm not in love with the trade, but I'm also not going to deny that we didn't get better from the deal.
Assuming everyone can stay moderately healthy, we'll be ridiculous on the defensive end of the court.
*I wonder if they'll use Booker to acquire another draft pick?

I can see us trading Booker soon. I just wonder what we can get for him.

I'm still up in the air on this deal.

If the Wizards do trade Trevor Booker, I think they will end up regretting it. I think he is going to have a breakout season soon wherever he goes.
Why on earth would anyone assume Okafor can stay healthy? Especially on the Wizards where no one, no matter how young and resilient, can make such a claim! He isn't going to stay healthy and Ariza is on his 6th team for a reason... he's mediocre. All for the low low price of 21 million bucks each of the next two seasons. Great!
To me this looks more like a tanking strategy for two more years than it does an attempt to win anything.

I like this:
Okafor, the son of Nigerian immigrants, is known for not only being a good basketball player but also for being an elite student. His major at UConn was finance, and he graduated with honors after three years in May 2004 with a 3.8 GPA. Okafor was named the Academic All-American of the Year in 2004 for his work on and off the court.
Who wants to help Blatche pack since he's for sure getting amnestied?
