I really think that Beal will have a good shot at it, especially if we're winning and he's getting the minutes. His only competition is Crawford and I think he wins that easily. Kinda like Wall beating out Heinrich. I think if Beal's shot is falling, he can win it. Not saying it's guaranteed, but he's got as good a shot as anyone.

Seeing some of these FA deals being offered/signed, I feel MUCH better about what EG/Ted did with the acquisitions of Nene, Ariza, and Oakfor. None of those deals are crippling....but 4/40 for Gerald Wallace...MAX deal for Hibbert...Max deal for Batum...etc....
No bueno.

His length gives him a wide margin of error. I think he'll use that and his natural quickness to compensate for his lack of strength just like he did in college.
Lack of strength in your big is less of a deal now than it's ever been.
New Orleans could also help him out by getting him a strong positional defender to play at PF/C along side Davis.

Yeah. Those are terrible contracts. What on Earth are those teams thinking? The teams signing bad long term deals today are probably going to be the losers in three years when they can't get in on the stacked FA classes of 2014/2015.

Have I mentioned how unbelievably excited about Brad Beal I am? He's wearing my number from when I played (3) forever ago. He's smart, old school, hard working, and humble. Players like that don't fail. Wouldn't be surprised if he's most people's favorite player in two years.
First RGIII, and now Brad Beal.
The Nats are in first and it's July.
And I got to see my first Caps game this year. 2012 is turning into a terrific sports year.

Yeah I knew these terrible deals were going to happen in FA, Ariza and Okafor are not bad players and will be great role models for Jan, Singleton, Booker, and Serphin. Dude I hope Seraphin becomes a star I think he can be. Id love to give one of our own guys like a Seraphin a nice long term deal!
Wizards have three spots to fill and little money to do it. Who do you guys think they sign? I hope C Martin finally gets a contract.
We're crowded at the position, but I really like what James Singleton did at the end of the season. I need to check to the stats, but I remember him being quite efficient.

Morris Almond's game log shows that he had little to do with it.

I just don't see it with Beal guys, 15 ppg on 44% shooting on 34 minutes per game seems a bit underachieving. Only 34% from 3 point mark. I will admit I am not really a college basketball guru, can someone explain the hype, I know his form is comparable to Ray Allen but it seems that is where it ends. He has good intangibles and defensive skills but I just don't see this whole "best shooter in the draft".
I'm not hating or being that guy, legitimately curious.
I would love to have both Cartier Martin and Singleton back next year. Those guys have always played well with us, even with limited minutes.
We'll grind that axe, for a long time!
