This team is only better if and when Wall and Nene get back. Given their injuries, there is no telling how many games they will actually play this season. If neither is back until the end of December, that's 28 games into the season. It will be tough to get to 30 given that.

I think the team is better even sans Wall. Guys 2-11 are better than they were in 2010 and 2011.

Check out the team stat http://espn.go.com/nba/team/stats/_/...ington-wizards

If you look at PPS (points per shot) you'll note that worst on the team that are below 1pps are:
    Booker
    Okafor
    Price
    Ariza
    Pargo

That's 4 of the starting five. Take a look at other teams and you'll quickly see how horrifying that stat is. I can't find a team with two starters under 1 PPS, we have four.

Holy balls...I had no clue. That's got to be historically bad right?

I don't think we can look at stats like that after 5 games to see if we are historically bad. 5 games of a 82 game season is about 6%. 1 game of a 16 game season is about 6%. That is kind of like saying after a QB doesn't score a TD in Week 1, "Wow that QB isn't even averaging a TD a game! That must be one of the worst starts to a season for a QB!"

This is the offseason, that this top 5 pick we are bound to get should be used to get a legit vet player. The gotta put something around Wall soon or he is gonna leave.

Randy Foye + Mike Miller part 2

God help us if Ernie is the one making that deal.

Hopefully Teddy cleans house. There is nobody is this draft other than Shabazz that I care for and he's not gonna play this year. This team needs to start winning some games and show Wall a future.

Honestly for all this building thru youth the only thing we have is Wall and a bunch of guys. Beal i'm not crazy about but hopefully he can pan out into a 15-18ppg #2-#3 option on a very good team.

I would rather see how these players look first. This is supposedly a bad draft, but you never know.

if we trade for vets, they better be good players. Not garbage. like the last time.

Yeah i'm not talking about garbage. I'm talking about useing the pick or pick+ players for a legit younger all star type of of talent. This team even when Wall is back needs that guy to be able to do his thing and create at the end of the game like a healthy Gilbert did.

If it turns out to be a bad draft as you suspect, it lowers the return on what we could expect for a top 5 pick.

This should not surprise anyone. One of the biggest reasons I hated that trade was that it tied money up into two players who added nothing to our pathetic offense. It kept us from bringing in offensive help and we're seeing it now.

I'm for trading for a young vet so long as he's actually good.

Who would be out there though? I haven't heard about any good young players who might be available. Anyone know about any?
