He's better than anyone we've got right now. But it's clear to me he's not a good #1 and paying and playing him like he is will be a mistake for Houston.

We're horrible, but a move like settling for Harden doesn't really get us anywhere. Better to take a lotto ticket on young talent like Beal and Singleton and retain flexibility than cap ourselves off at mediocre like Houston did. We can trade Beal at any point if something better comes along.

Hornets have the 30th ranked defense, we have 15 total points, 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter

Beal's value may have been highest pre-draft. I hope not, but it's a probability that cannot be ignored.

Beals value now is no where near what it was predraft and there are no star players available for trade let alone for Beal and Singleton.

Any guarding the primary ball handlers apparently. Words fail.

Would you give Monta Ellis that deal? Rudy Gay? Paying players like this that kind of money is how you top out as a 7th or 8th seed.

How closely have you been following him this year? He hasn't been that good and is a legit disappointment as a #1. He is just not a #1 player on a contender and the Rockets are going nowhere. He's gone from being a great shooter to a poor shooter.

It's not just his shooting that's down, but almost all of his numbers except assist rate and PPG, from PER to WS/48 which is way down from last season. He's a complimentary player not a franchise player.

Maybe we should find a way to get Beal more shots?

Vesely is the worst player I've seen in the NBA. Literally no redeeming factors. Doesn't do a single thing well. Put him in the ****ing D-league already.

Harden is not a star player.

Might be just a definition issue. Personally I don't think Harden is a max player, either. Star? Probably, considering how weak the 2 guard position is in the league.

Really nice game from Beal. Good work to get the and-1 there at the end. No idea how we're not down 20.
