That's the catch-22. If Wall is an all-star and Beal is playing well, Ernie keeps his job even if the team isn't really winning. Maybe we have a new coach...maybe.

Ernie only got a two year extension. Part of me still believes that was Ted's way of punting the issue of Ernie's incompetence to 2014 when a couple major things will happen:

1.) The landscape of the entire league is set to dramatically change. The FA class that summer is potentially ridiculous--even more ridiculous than 2010. And the new luxury tax penalties are set to kick in and a lot of teams are going to have to radically change their rosters and the way they do business to avoid the new tax. It's pretty crippling.

2.) The Wall/Beal era will hopefully be stable enough for them the weather a change as significant as a new GM and FO being installed. Making big changes at this point when Wall's career is in such a fragile place and Beal is just a rookie could completely stunt them. Hell a new GM could have come in here and immediately started trading everyone. I think Ted believes there is a worthwhile core to be had here. And as far as Wall and Beal, I still agree they are worth building around.

Everyone else could be dealt though. Ted probably still thinks Nene, Crawf, Booker, Ves, Singleton, and Seraphin are untouchable and that they're as much a part of the core as Wall and Beal. I think that's a big error in judgement and I'm thinking that will be settled by 2014 one way or another.

I don't know what to read into that. Wall is coming back?

Price also isn't far from returning. Temple has outplayed Mack in just about every aspect, one of those would have to go before Wall & Price came back.

If we keep both Wall and Beal the next coach better have a plan on how they are going to make that backcourt work both from an offensive standpoint and a defensive stand point.

This feels like it's going to be an ass wupping. Expectations lowered... all I want to see tonight is Beal play well. Maybe a good game from Seraphin for a change.

Wall is a king sized PG and Beal has solid size. Both are athletic and Beal is strong, cognizant, and aggressive. Wall is already a brilliant transition defender and is a transcendent athlete with the potential to grow into an elite perimeter defender. Defense should eventually be a big time strength for them.

Vesely contributing nicely. Good to see. Beal with another really solid half of work. He's moving around the court with so much more confidence.

Vesely had some nice dunks. Seraphin is having a good game thankfully. I also liked seeing Beal and Martell playing aggressively on both ends.

The Thunder space the floor so amazingly well. You can't leave anyone alone with a top four that can shoot like Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Martin.

Ibaka's hollering on defensive plays is pretty lame. This isn't women's tennis dude.

Beal is the smartest player on the floor. Look at that beautiful swing pass to Webster.
