Not anytime soon, if ever, which is just a shame. I HATE the name Wizards, mostly because it's lame and our former dead owner loved it and tried to hoodwink the masses with a "contest" when he picked the name all along.

I'm not certain we are in phase two though I'd love that to be the case. The GM, coach, and star player are all very much questionable at this point. This could either be the start of phase two or evidence that another rebuild is needed. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many contracts on this Wizards team expire at the same time, I think Ted built himself an emergency exit. This thing has two seasons to work.

I wouldn't read too much into the contracts because the vast majority of them are rookie deals and they are done according to guideline.

We're committed to Wall/Vesely/Beal/Nene for the next several years.

Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that guard John Wall will miss approximately eight weeks after being diagnosed with the early stages of a stress injury to his left patella. No surgery will be necessary, and his rehab will begin immediately.

“My teammates and I are all excited to build on the improvement we made at the end of last season, and I know they will continue to make great progress while I get through this setback,” said Wall. “I will work extremely hard to make sure I get back as soon as possible so I can re-join them and help our team continue to improve."

Wall was examined yesterday in New York by orthopedic specialist Dr. David Altchek after experiencing discomfort in his left knee and underwent an MRI that revealed the early stages of a non-traumatic stress injury.

"We're all disappointed for John after how hard he worked this summer and how excited he was to begin training camp, but we feel fortunate that we caught the injury early and that he will be able to return with the vast majority of the season still in front of us," said Grunfeld. "In the meantime, we're confident that the versatility and depth of our team will help us move forward and continue the positive momentum that we've seen over the past several months."

The Wizards begin training camp on Oct. 2 at George Mason University and open the season on Oct. 30 at Cleveland.

Yeah he's done for the season. The Wiz medical staff is about as good as the doctor on The Simpsons. On the good side, at least there's a month before the season so he'll be out 4 weeks of the season.

By the way, I'm going to go ahead and already call bull**** on him not needing surgery. I think this might be a desperation move by the team because they are all in big trouble this year if this team is garbage.

I really hope they aren't rushing him back.

We'd be lucky to win 4 games the first month. My concern isn't the injury or the timetable, its the wizards medical staff. Ted needs to fix his **** and get the best of the best here. No need to sacrifice Wall's career just because he may miss half the season.
