Where is the PSN/Xbox Live ID thread? I had to change my PSN ID recently and lost all of my ES friends.

BTW this game looks like so much fun. I'm a casual player and I get so wrapped up in these games.

I said this in the MW2 thread many times, I believe Black Ops is poised to be one of the very best FPS in video game history.

If you simply don't like arcade-heavy action like the COD series provides us with, then you'll feel differently.

But on that playing field, Black Ops is looking more and more like a game we just haven't seen the likes of.

Treyarch dedicated their entire team to making Black Ops for 2 years. On top of that, Infinity Ward took the time to make the game engine, not Treyarch. They have been 'merely' adding-on and tuning-up Black Ops for the entire time they've been working on it.

Say what you will about Treyarch, COD3 bombed, but W@W was a very good step up in quality. It was also not a fair fight when going up against COD4. By the time W@W came out, people were sick of WWII games and COD4 was a huge hit.

Spoiler Alert: I'll now highlight the things that stood out the most to me while researching this game on Call of Duty Wiki

Multiplayer looks much deeper than it ever has been; and probably the most important thing about this game is that it looks like they listened to some feedback from MW2 fans.

The nuke is gone, commando is gone, machine pistols are gone, heartbeat sensors are gone. However, there is no verdict on this case until we see the noob tube. Is it going to be the same ole ****? I know it's relatively expensive for an attachment now, but you know there are thousands of slimeballs who will have their sights set on nabbing it right away. Do we just have to accept that every COD game is going to be like a really hot chick who habitually bites down?

A couple things to point out. Number 1 is that Stopping Power is gone. It's just....gone. *stares at the wall for a minute to reminisce about the good times had with Stopping Power* 'Tis a sad day. Also, Pro Perk effects in MW2 have been mixed up. Lightweight Pro is no falling damage, FMJ is a perk in Slot 2, Steady Aim Pro is "quicker recovery time from knifing." So basically, tactical knife is back...

With Second Chance Pro (Last Stand from MW2), any of your teammates can revive you when you're down.

The SCAR is gone, the M4 is gone, The FAMAS is fully automatic, the AUG is an assault rifle. The AK-74u is back, the Skorpian is back, the P90 is gone (Rest in Peace old friend). There are 9 SMGs in total. Every LMG in Black Ops is different than in MW2, and there are four of them. Unfortunately, there are only 4 sniper rifles to choose from again. The Dragunov is back from COD4, and the WA2000 is back from MW2.

Shotguns are a primary weapon now. The only Shotgun being brought back is the SPAS. The Model 1887 is in single player, but not multiplayer. Secondary weapons consist of semi-auto pistols, launchers, a crossbow or a ballistic knife. Good stuff.

There are 15 prestige levels now, and the highest rank is 50. There are 15 gun camouflages to choose from, 14 maps, and 15 killstreaks.

And outside of multiplayer, there is a separate co-op campaign mode where you can play with up to 4 players. There is also a "Combat Training" mode where you can play team deathmatch and free-for-all against the AI. Along with Zombie Mode coming back from COD5, this just seems like a melting pot for the past 3 COD games.

Wow, a one hour preview video? So there are still noob tubes? That might be make or break for me.

We should start a list for the folks planning to get Black Ops. I know there is one MW2, but everyone might not get Black Ops or get it week 1. I plan to get it the day one and play & beat single player first. I will probably start playing online on Thursday. Have the day off for Veterans Day.

    Thank God Commando is gone.

So ****ing cheap when someone can stab me from 5 feet away.

I've always thought they should have a mode, similar to barebones, where you can't have an attachment like the grenade launcher.

I'm with you on that. I've always wanted a "true" barebones. no perks, no attachments. just pick your guns and go.

They brought back the stupid dogs...the dogs and tanks made WaW a POS.

I will buy on release for the zombie mode. That is worth the price of admission by itself.

i'm kinda new to the COD series, and mw2 was my first one. i've heard stories about how epic the zombies game mode was. I'm glad its back, and it'll be new to me.

I've heard that now, when in Last Stand, you can be "revived" by your teammates. not sure if i'm going to like that...

I am disappointed in no more quick aiming after sprinting. That's what I enjoyed most from lightweight perk.

Steady Aim Pro = Enables user to aim faster after sprinting and recover faster from a knife lunge.
