I really wish they wouldn't announce anything until Wed morning or at least until every voting period was over. I mean if the news can remain mum for the Olympics they can for our National elections. I realize that these are "local" races, but I'd rather the horse race not be influenced on the local or national level, but people would just go to do their thing. The people who choose not to vote because it's a lost cause or who choose to vote only for a partisan rally isn't the truest reflection of what we as a people will.

    Where's the national candidate?

These are individual races that of course have national impact but this isn't like a presidential year where there is a national candidate on the ballot. What someone does in Delaware shouldn't impact what one does in California. If you going to vote for or against Barbara Boxer you base that on what she has done for California and not what is going on elsewhere or what the national voting trend is.

The only election where what you said is valid is the presidential election because the presidential ballot is nationwide.

Elections go like waves. Momentum sweeps accross states. So, the national candidate is every single one of them, because after their elected they represent their district, their state, and the United States. Now, I know what you're thinking... you're thinking Bull Cookies! They don't represent that! They represent their party, their lobbiests, and their special interests and I may have to concede your point, but still... it's nice to believe at least a little.

Other than Obama's agenda being stopped dead in it tracks, I believe nothing else will change. We are replacing one set of idiots for a new set of idiots that those up for relection in 2012 will be thrown out. All that happen for 2 years is position for 2012 and other than a little show, the real problems of America will not be addressed the next 2 years.

Well the Repubs picked up one seat with Dan Coats winning in Indiana. Jim Demint, Patrick Leheay and wacky aqua buddha Rand Paul won their races.

Tell me about it. Classic case of a party valuing power over the quality of its constituency. I think that's how Kerry weaseled his way into a presidential nomination too.

Oooh, other people. Was getting tired talking to myself. I'm really curious to see what happens in West Virginia. If Manchin loses, then it could be a very long miserable night for the Dems.
