Default NFL Power Rankings for Playoff Chances: Big Wins for Week 12

A lot of teams had big wins this week and our win helps keep us in contention. I know we have had problems but there is something about our team that has glimpses of dominance. I know our odds look bad but we still have a chance. This week we split up the power rankings and playoff chances.

22's a bit low. I'd put us around 18. I think we're a slightly below average team with a lot of grit.

Apologies to the OP, who I think is only the messenger. These rankings are full of serious crap. Consider:

The Chiefs moved from #14 to #8 based on what exactly?
The Eagles beat the Giants, and BOTH fall one spot?
The Bears move up ELEVEN spots just because they beat Miami?
The Broncos move up five spots......how'd they do last night again???
How did the Skins fall 3 spots after a win?
The 49ers move up 2 spots after losing 21-0 at home??

Unless I'm reading this list wrong (certainly impossible), this is a steaming pile.

We are far from a dominant team. In order to make the playoffs, we'll have to win the division. Unless there is a monumental collapseby one of these teams, here are your playoff teams in the NFC, in no particular order:

    TB
    ATL
    CHI ( Or NO)
    GB
    NFC East division champ
    NFC West division champ

As others have pointed out in other threads, both Chicago and Tampa have very difficult schedules down the stretch.....you can see both easily falling to 9-7.

Just the title implies that this is power rankings in terms of making the playoffs. So, the Chiefs could have risen due to the Raiders getting smoked and the Broncos falling out of contention. The Eagles may have fallen one spot despite winning due to Tampa, Chicago, and New Orleans all winning and making the wild card picture in the NFC that much tougher.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Ignore this guy, he's a spammer trying to drive traffic to his site. He (or his friends) post on other teams message boards, always with a sentence or two tailored to that team and a link. My suggestion it to not click on it, and give this guy the ax.

Because I do not believe that we will end up with the same record as them for tiebreakers to take effect, therefore the fact that we beat them means absolutely nothing...

That's a good point TD but I still dunno. The Eagles moved into the division lead.......I don't see how its possible that they fall even in rankings based on playoff chances, and are still below the Giants. And I would think that the Redskins, at 5-5, still have a better chance at the playoffs than the Broncos, who are now 3-7! And we're even closer to the Eagles than they are to the Chiefs!

    Again, a steaming pile..............

Well, I admit that I didn't actually look at the rankings...I was just playing devil's advocate. I can't really defend these after the things you've just mentioned.

power rankings are about as accurate as me sending my dog to take a dump on a numbered checkerboard...

This weeks game VS Minn. at home is do or die. As I said a few weeks ago if we could go 2-1 against the Eagles, Titans, and Vikings we have a good shot of making a wild card. You have to figure this way say we beat the Vikings we are 6-5 split VS the Giants and even if we lose to the Cowpukes in Dallas we have two winnable games VS the Jags and Bucs. Is it doable yes.

    Basically.

it's sad that some fans put as much stock in them as they do, it's ridiculous. All they rankings are there for, is to spark debate; there's not much separating a lot of these teams. This isn't the BCS...
