Lol Kdawg.. sometimes there's just not much more that needs be said.

Our special teams stink, and they have since he's gotten here. They were a joke last year, they're a bungling mess this year.

I can't stand him. If there's one guy I'd love gone it's him.

I'd say Lohmiller was pretty good. But it's been a long time since he was here too.

Maybe we should get a separate coach for kicking and punting. lol.
Although we've also had a lot of big returns come back due to illegal blocks.

Hopefully when the team starts doing all this purging in the offseason, Danny Smith will be one of the areas that are addressed.. I dont know if he has any input on how the kickers and punters prepare (or work on technique with them) but there has to be some parellel with him and them always being inconsistant?? Maybe other teams have specialist that work exclusively with those guys that we dont?? (If there's a link for that, please post it)

Danny Smith needs to go IMO, he shouldve been out of here years ago when Randle El was still returning punts

His coverage teams have been great all year! If you want to give him crap for the field goals struggles, you have to give him credit for possibly the best coverage teams in the NFL.

People just want someone to blame. If that's all you need, look no further than Sundberg/Hunter Smith.
“Hey, about an hour ago, all right, their [defensive] coordinator [Juan Castillo] told us, told [offensive line coach Chris] Foerster, that [if] the Giants would have lost last week, they were in the playoffs,” Kyle Shanahan said. “He didn’t mention that they had to beat us today. **** him, **** these guys. In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right ****ing today.”

No kidding. Not to mention the rejuvenation of the return game now that ARE is gone. There is a reason Danny Smith was one of the only coaches to be held over from the previous admin. He's a good special teams coach.

... Shanny was actually going to bring in someone else.... but Danny Smith was highly sought after by other teams, so skins kept him

I think Brandon Banks alone (and DT when he was here) has rejuvenated the return game, but I think their speed, talent, and instict could do that w/any teams coach? The return teams are still very UNdisciplined, with the continued block in the back and holding calls though.. Reguardless, it's the ongoing problems with the kicking game that concerns me the most..(And not just this year.. Weve had issues with kickers and punters for as long as I can remember) Like I said, I dont know if Danny has anything to do with the kicker/punter technique or how they prepare, but for whatever reason when they get to Washington it goes all to hell.. (and as mentioned, Shuisham goes to the Steelers and looks like a probowler.. And ARE doesnt have the dropsies this year either?) What happens in other organizations special teams department, thats missing in DC??

Guys, he is doing what he can with what he has. What he has is a consistently excellent coverage unit, a very good returner, and huge question marks at Center Punter and Kicker. It isnt on Danny Smith when your kicker is missing 30 yard FG's. It isnt on Danny Smith when your punter has one of the weakest legs in the league. It isnt on Danny Smith when the snapper goofs the snap.

This is the first game I can remember in a long time where we lost because of the special teams, and it always seems like we win 1-2 games per year because of the special teams. I am very glad we have Danny Smith, and I am absolutely confused by this thread.
    Step 1: Ignore Offensive Line
    Step 2: ??????
    Step 3: Super Bowl!!!
