This organization did not de-value McNabb or Haynsworth. McNabb and Haynsworth devalued themselves.
McNabb by playing so poorly. Haynsworth by being a worthless ass. I would even go so far as to argue that the drama surrounding the benching of McNabb may act in our favor if another coach feels he didn't get a fair shot or simply is not a good fit for our system. As for why another team would trade for a player who could be released, that's simple. If you want them, you trade for them to keep them off the market to be sure no one else gets them first. It happens all the time.
I would trade Albert for Young straight up if they weren't willing to give us a good enough pick. Worth the risk for one year.

Gone but never forgotten.

I don't know that Fisher would even want McNugget. He dumped McNair at around the same age and they went with Young. McNabb has maybe 2 years left, that's it.

I can and WILL play Redskins games too in the future...
That is interesting. And I think too many people are forgetting that half a year ago, we were praising Bruce Allen for the deals he was making. Giving up much less than Vinny would have and such.
So I think it's totally possible. I hate to compare Donovan and VY, but you kinda have to. They're similar, with a difference in age, and a HUGE difference in attitude. I bet Fisher would have loved to have a VY with a Donovan attitude.

let them figure out what to do with TN just trade the other two there.
I think its overblown like most stuff in the media especially this past offseason.. VY is immature still but has the right intentions in wanting to be on the field.. The guy is what 25-26 years old? That argument started because he wanted to come back into the game hurt atleast he wanted to be out there unlike fat Albert.. He is also like 32-16 as a starting NFL QB and has came a long way as a passer.. The guy deserves a second chance and a fresh start..
He still has a future at QB in the NFL taking a risk on him while still drafting a QB give this team 2 chances at finding a franchise QB..
When's the last time there's been multiple players packaged in an NFL trade? It's always player for pick. The only league that doesn't really do it.
It's a nice idea to be sure. I don't think it's going to happen, but it's a nice idea.
I suspect Haynesworth will go back to the titans for a mid round pick, but I think we'll get more for McNabb from the Cardinals.
No team is going to gut their draft for those two in the same year, even with Carter tacked on.
Carter ain't worth a ham sammich in a trade unless some other team hires Vinny to be their GM. Then we could get a 3rd and 4th.
London Fletcher has been a good player but he missed a lot of tackles this year. The running game suffered because he has lost a step and his body is not responding. I understand some of you are stuck on the loyalty thing, but it doesn;t trumpt the winning thing. Fletcher is 35 will be 36 shortly. Perhaps he could be a player coach for one year but starting is going to be out of the question if you expect him to make it through an 18 game season at age 36. Ain't gonna happen.
no to vince young. yes to trading our guys there.
vince young is absolutely crazy and very immature.
i think we've had enough turmoil here without someone like him.
Bud Adams wasn't thinking when he made those comments about Young and Fischer needing to work it out. He sounded out of touch when he made them, and I don't think its any surprise that Fischer won out here.
