When the stadium first opened I thought it was neat to see the gold "middle" ring in between the two burgundy rings. But I don't see them going through the expense of making all of the seats they already upgraded to burgundy padded ones a different color. And especially since the metal things in the club level party deck are burgundy. Just make the whole section burgundy and be done with it.

I made my "party deck" as the reason for the missing upper seats as more of a joke and thought maybe they were installing new seats with cupholders up there. But TK hearing that it will be a party deck makes sense, given that in the picture, there looks like a uniform number of rows at the bottom of each section which have seats remaining. IIRC, this is also the end of the stadium which is typically closed off for most concerts they have, so maybe they are only changing this end for now.

And to the question of how long it will take to do......I remember the club level end zones were in pretty much the same state at last year's party, and they had those done easily before the first preseason game.

They've done wonders with the renovations at New Comiskey and I've been hoping they could do similar things with FedEx. Both venues were widely considered duds for the new generation of 1990s sports venues when comparing them to other new stadiums that opened shortly after.

Yes I was there and notice it. They should rip them out because who wants to set in those seats.

Wonder why they have not made the announcement yet?

no way they remove that many seats unless they go straight benches in the endzones. They probably are putting in new seats with some sort of design on them

My bet is they will sell what they can as upper level party decks and distribute the rest to Suite/Premium ticket holders as perks and incentives.

This was a post on Hogs Haven back in February which jives with what TK reported in this thread right after the DDP:

Is anyone going to the Chesney concert in a few weeks? If so, please take some pics of how they are progressing on this project......and if they are also doing the same thing at the opposite end of the stadium as well.

Then stay at home. We need less of you wine and cheese fans at the game anyways. If you are under the age of 50 you should have no problem standing at a FOOTBALL game. Hopefully this move generates some noise.

Yeah. The guy with 13K posts that clearly demonstrate how much he loves this team is EXACTLY the type of fan that we don't want. Good call.

I bet they hold off on the press release for this project until we know for sure when football will return. No need to go public with seat reduction while their trying to sell tix that are supposedly in demand.

I thought about this as well. Also, they probably need all this time to figure out how they are going to spin this, especially after hearing all these years about how we had this huge waiting list for Skins tix

How much do you think they'll sell these for? The club deck went for $150, which I thought was a bit steep for SRO tix but when compared to the $250 they were selling the cheapest real club seat for, maybe not so bad. What about these? $25?

Yeah, like having 13K posts on ES is the gold standard which separates the great fans from us mediocre ones. If you're under the age of 40 (especially one that is in his 20s) and aren't going with your kids then you should have no problem standing up to watch a football game. Hell, I'd rather stand up and yell and make noise than sit down and get looked at for yelling or making noise.

This is why college games are 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better than NFL games. At college games almost everyone is on their feet making noise all game long, while the NFL especially FedEx has become a wine and cheese crowd. VT fans gave a great demonstration on how to stand up and make noise in the game vs. Boise St., I've never seen FedEx that loud before, and it took a college team to make that happen.
